Its gonna be a lovely summer in 2009

When I 1st read bout ST2009 coming back i was not too thrilled till I saw the cast lineup for it Yippie

Star Trek - May 2009 chronicles the early, post Star Fleet academy, pre-Star Trek The Original Series adventures of the iconic crew of the Star Ship Enterprise. Directed by J.J. Abrahms (Lost, Cloverfield, Fringe)

With a cast of relative silver screen newbies. The exception being Winona Ryder who plays Spock’s Human mother, a role played on television and in films by Jane Wyatt. Many of these actors don’t ring a bell so I’ll list the Enterprise crew members with the actors playing them as well as some films/TV you might have seen them in. Then I have photo that shows the new actors juxtaposed with the old. I’ll quiz you on this tomorrow so take good notes.

Mr. Spock - Played by American actor Zachary Quinto (Best known as the villan “Sylar” from NBC’s Heroes, he already has the eyebrows going for him)

Pavel Andreievich Chekov - Played by Russian born American actor Anton Yelchin (An up and coming young actor, I was really pleased by his performance as the young kidnap victim in Alpha Dog).

Lt. Uhura - Played by American actress Zoe Saldana (Queens New York native of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent, Zoe Saldana has several small roles in TV as well as Pirates of the Carribbean: At World’s End and Drumline plus she’s freaking hot).

James Tiberius Kirk - Played by American actor Chris Pine (was in a bunch of shitty romantic comedies like The Princess Diaries 2, however his television appearances include some quality stuff such as CSI and Six Feet Under).

Montgomery Scott aka “Scotty” - Played by British actor Simon Pegg (star of Sean of the Dead, Superfuzz, and The Office -UK)

Hikaru Sulu - Played by Korean American actor John Cho (co-starred as Harold from the stoner cult comedy Harold and Kumar go to White Castle)

Dr. Leonard McCoy aka “Bones” - Played by New Zealand actor Karl Urban (Chronicles of Riddick In The Lord of the Rings trilogy, he played Eomer of Rohan. He also appeared in The Bourne Supremecy) He reminds me of young David Gilmore for some reason.

I would like a masseuse and lo behold I was offered complimentary services......So coming back after a tiring day, my darling Junior Vadai says to me come I massage you leg.... no this is someone whose definition of massage is chopping grabbing massaging hard etc etc ... but I was all smile watching him trying to easy the tiredness off..... not if only I had a glass of wine to go with this

OMG an EMPTY TRAIN!!!

The usual halla-bu-loo bout being packed like sardines from KL Sentral is an accepted norm.... unlike TP who had the opportunity to blast the MD of KTM not many of us are blessed with such chances so we que up

Lo behold a empty train read again EMPTY showed up and we all were relieved to get a seat. and you could choose where to sit, no ppl instructing masuk.. masuk dalam lagi ( non erotic of course)

Office Relocation Re-assignment - Rewarding the workers

So when the whole project was completed I treated my team which included Junior Vadai at Bangkok Connection (old Bisik) and yes we had beer

He was a bit taken aback when he say me giving a friendly hug to aunty Anisha(old timer) but he warmed up to her and yes I bought the team a round of drinks and dinner was on me... the one to enjoy it the most was Junior Vadai hehehe

Over the past few weekend we have been having our office expansion, relocation and reassignment of furniture. Especially with the huge surplus of furniture pouring out of our Sham Alam Office it was time to distribute the wealth.


My assistant was Junior Vadai who was more then happy to chip in and see where Senior Vadai office was and having fun along the way, yeah that means getting sweaty and jumping off chair and pushing chair and climbing the tables and carrying tools.


Of course we did have professional help lol

Time for Tyre Rotation

Yeah the car just passed the 10k milestone and once again its time for Tyre rotation.


Yeah the jalopy is doing an average 1500km per month sheesh but a nice jalopy in it... I do get lucky in it a few times lol





While many people are capable of rotating their own tyres, it is quicker, easier and safer to let a professional do it for you un less your someone like my brother Jen... he will start.... "Machan.....".
Your vehicle's owner's manual will specify the proper rotation pattern and schedule for your vehicle. If a specific schedule is not indicated, it is a good rule of thumb to rotate your tyres every 10,000 km's. Go do it

There is a saying there is 2 sides to a coin, while I dont support it I am certainly not against it either. I have had my fair share of exploding and imploding. There at times in my life i have taken revenge and not ashamed to say it but there are equal number of time I just walk away.

Taking chances on people

People believe what they want to believe, much of the time. I don't mean to say that they believe things without any reason, but they believe, oftentimes, without good reason.

Most people will give some reason why they believe something. But an indicator of the fairness of their point of view is how they respond to even-handed, fair criticism of their view and to evidence for an opposing view. Lots of people have reasons for what they believe, but when those reasons are refuted--when they're taken away or weakened by other evidence--do they still stand on their point of view, or are they willing to adjust their view based on the evidence that comes in?

Same as in human beings such as you and I. Most of our fallacies are usually related to taking chances on people.

Wanting to believe to believe the best about people does not make it tru, being afraid does not make it false.

I have always taken a chance on people we dun recall the times it worked out but we always remember when we got burnt. I hav has a gut feeling about a friend that interacts with me frequently, we are hot and cold but remember birthdays Dewali Xmas has always has us in each other background and a bond that not broken.

Kanda Shasti

So what is this day.....


It is the day the Lord Subramanya defeated the demon Soorapadma and saved the Earth from his evils. When the devas couldn't tolerate the evil doings of this demon, they approached the younger son of Lord Shiva and Parvati. The kind Lord went on a war against Soorapadman. The war was waged for six days, at the end of which the Lord vanquished the asura. He threw his weapon at him and Soorapadman was split into two halves. One half became a peacock, which He took as His vaahana. The other became a cock and was transformed into his flag.

The devas, who were tormented by Soorapadman, rejoiced - they praised the Lord and prayed to him for six days. Devotees usually narrate the kanda sashti kavacham, during this period. Whoever fasts for these six days of Skanda Sashti and prays to Lord Muruga steadfastly, it is said that they would get the blessings of Lord Muruga. Those who are unable to fast for a whole day for a six-day duration, can eat just one meal during this period.
Sashti is one of the grandest festivals celebrated in honor of Lord Muruga, or Skanda, as He is also known. This comes immediately following Deepavali, on the six day period in the bright half of the Tamil month of Aippasi.


One of the climaxing events of Kanda sashti is Suran Poor where in many temple a re-inactment of the battle between Soorapadman and Muguran battles. In Klang the Subramian temple was the sence where this battle would be re enacted.

Let look at the positive side of this... A head on battle for the number 2 post was won or lost on what grounds. I know both well enough one had clout and one can work. Was he voted in based on those grounds or the affiliates jsut switching pin the tail on the donkey. When dead wood representatives vote like a whip you get thing like this. Why?

All due respect to the New DP who I know personally, he is got his work cut out for him, not only has he got to be the right hand man of the TM. Also get the house in oder. All the press statements he made bout the house not in order now he must stand up and set the house straight.

On the administrative end MHF need to get their paperwork, policies and procedures in order. Each VP should understand a portfolio and goals should be set in place.

This was a motion that started a few seasons back but all died off and I suspect we will end up with the same dilemma.

It in indeed refreshing to see Gobi there. As young as he is its important to have an individual of his caliber and his experience contributing to the association.

Funding is the biggest problem in MHF, while everyone talks no one bring in the money, you cannot and should not expect the TM to bring in the funds.

Back in the heydays its not the President that brought in the dough.

One VP already done his task of bring in fund from the organization he represents how about the other VP what can they work to bring in?

The other aspect is the constitution need to be re looked into. We have been too kind to the teams on the East of us, while the rational of having a secured VP seat dedicated to a representative from East Malaysia has brought benefits to them. Why? Coz the VP elected are hardly around for meeting and even if they are, you can refer to the minutes how many issues to they bring up.

Secondly its too costly for committee members to attend sub committee meeting flying here so even if they sit in the committee no point

There should be equal right among all affiliates but when development is concerned there should be equal focus, here the responsibility lies in the committee chairmen.

Lastly funding, no point hosting teams with all paid expenses then scrapping the bottom of the barrel. In my many conversation with the Treasurer I highlighted where the money could be better spent that benefits all the affiliated and the national team.

Lastly I think well I hope I am wrong but I believe one of the few national Association without a webpage. While we can spend Rm 700 for meeting, over a million for a tounament and travel allowances but we cant allocate RM 1500 to build a webpage and keep it running for a year.

When a paper on this was presented a few years back all the hue and cry and copyright and material and etc etc etc In short empty tins make more noise and I was proven right

Having hosted 2 World Cups, Champions Trophies, Champions Challenge and other tournaments that comes to mind and yet we cant even have a decent webpage.


Do we know where our MHF archives of documents, photos, tournament records and information is?

So looking forward will anything actually change
