Pub hopping for Germany 3rd placing match.

One thing about following Commie you never will know where you will end up. So here I was on the Saturday I came up from Klang, we ended up in Sunway Mentari pub hopping there we came across a nice chinese band which I must say was a treat to watch.

Anybody who want a recording of Commie trying to join the band in a sing along of the song "Menghitung Hari" the bids start at RM 50

Germany Gets 3rd

Germany took third place Saturday in the World Cup, beating Portugal 3-1 on two sensational goals by Bastian Schweinsteiger. He also set up the third, when his free kick was deflected in for an own-goal by Portugal's Armando Petit.

Here I was leaving Klang, Commender takes me to his cousin place to watch the game only to have the pub close on us. Damm that commando!!!! He finally made is up by watching it in his place. It was nice bachelor's pad

I need ot get out of my house more often and hang out with guys and lepak a bit. I kind of need that male bonding thing

For all that worth Thanks Commando

BEING GRATEFUL

With permission from

Tuesday, July 04, 2006

Sometimes it is difficult for people to be grateful. Let me share you a story that my friend Som sent me.

My mom only had one eye. I hated her... she was such an embarrassment.

She cooked for students & teachers to support the family.
There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me.
I was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me? I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out.
The next day at school one of my classmates said, "EEEE, your mom only has one eye!"
I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear.
So I confronted her that day and said, " If you're only gonna make me a laughing stock, why don't you just die?!!!"
My mom did not respond...
I didn't even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger.
I was oblivious to her feelings.
I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her.
So I studied real hard, got a chance to go to Singapore to study.
Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own.
I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts.
Then one day, my mother came to visit me.
She hadn't seen me in years and she didn't even meet her grandchildren.
When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited.
I screamed at her, "How dare you come to my house and scare my children!"GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!"
And to this, my mother quietly answered, "Oh, I'm so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address," and she disappeared out of sight.
One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house in Singapore.
So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip.
After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.
My neighbors said that she died.
I did not shed a single tear.
They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.
“My dearest son. I think of you all the time. I'm sorry that I came to Singapore and scared your children.
I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.
But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you.
I'm sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up.
You see........when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye.
As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you having to grow up with one eye.
So I gave you mine.
I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye.
With my love to you,
Your mother.

Many of you, I am sure have given up more than an eye. Some might not get the gratefulness that is universally expected. Such is life.

Well the weekend is here and on a Friday the pace is furious

Sunday - once in 4 years its the Wrold Cup Finals a fairytale ending for both teams the French ageing gladiators on a swan song or the Tainted Local league that has blown to a full scandal that the team has come together to overcome and play a superb back 4. Canavaro just outstanding We shall see....I be in my place watchig it live

Losing My Religion - Insanity/Depressions

Where ever I can be, doing whats ever I am doing this song would make me freeze on my tracks, this is by far one of the most haunting song I have even come across, I put this up in the ranks of Queen, the kind of song that make you pause, reflect, its got a lot of personal meaning to me back then days when I was a volunteer councelor at the hospital overseas, haunting moments and dark moments that though me a lot.

Life is bigger, It's bigger than you
And you are not me, The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes, Oh no I've said too much
I set it up

That's me in the corner, That's me in the spotlight
Losing my religion, Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much, I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

Every whisper, Of every waking hour I'm
Choosing my confessions, Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool, Oh no I've said too much
I set it up

Consider this (2x), The hint of the century
Consider this, The slip that brought me
To my knees failed, What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around, Now I've said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing, I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream, That was just a dream
That's me in the corner, That's me in the spotlight
Losing my religion, Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it, Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough, I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing, I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream, That was just a dream

In a way its about insanity/depression. How when one looses their way, their belief, their fate they internally loose themselves. The isolation, “that’s me in the corner”, and the feeling of being under the "spotlight" by society is a very symbolic contradiction to life as of now. It’s a hard thing to explain but you can feel isolated and under the spotlight at the exact same time. It’s a horrible feeling to have but unfortunately it happens from time to time.

You , I and other like us all in our own way feel it along the course of one's life. It is something you go through, dat's life. No matter what the situation is everyone feels like they are in fact "losing their religion" at one point or another. Weather in life, relationships, I know I have felt like I have lost my way sometimes…as if I didn’t know who I was. It does happen to everyone and the reason why I think the song is so great…it makes you think…what would you do if you lost your way?....

This is how the song relates to me and how it makes me feel. I realize it is something different for each individual. I do know that these lyrics really get to me, their lyrics makes you realize your not the only one “losing your religion”…like I said before it is something everyone experiences at least once in their life…betetr stop here

Superman Returns (2006) - Epilogue

DC Comics gave up so much that the loyal superman follower would be asking serious questions of them. I would, I am dissapointed wiht the strength of the movie

Then there is the problem with the story. So let's see if we can get this straight. Superman disappears for five years and then Lex goes to jail for five years but gets out long enough to meet and marry and pleasure a dying old woman to then steal her fortune so that he can then go back to Superman's fortress and steal the secrets he needs to take over the world. RIGHT! Kawabunga

Is it really that hard to figure out that Clark and Superman returned at the same time?

You're talking about reporters here. People who uncover the truth for a living. And they can't piece together the physical similarities of their look and their physique and the auspicious timing of both of their returns? Duh!!

The reason for his disappearance is lame. The plot by Lex to take over the world is terrible

There was also a terribly attempt to introduce his super-son. Once we find out that he can throw a piano, is it really too much to ask to have him break the door down?

The film is supposed to be a bridge between the second and the present. But there are too many plot holes to accomplish that simple task. And that takes away the credibility of the movie. And if you just don't believe what you are being fed, then there isn't much point to the film.

Not all is bad. I have to admit that at the beginning when John Williams iconic theme blasts over the speakers, I got chills just like when I was a kid. No more "Up! Up! and Away!!!". And the airplane rescue scene is actually breathtaking, especially when it lands on a baseball diamond. Also fun is one brief line when you hear that Superman has been spotted all over the world, including Gotham City, I was being hilarious with Commander that Batman and his utility belt has gone for a vacation....ROTFLMAO

I didn't hate Superman Returns. I just didn't like it all that much. I did laugh and want to cheer in some parts, but more times than not, I wanted it to end. Kevin Spacey Saved the day!!!

Superman Returns (2006)

If at all there would be a reason to see this, even alone, it would be because of this guy.. the movies comes along 5 years after Superman decided to take a vacation...yadayadayada....LL Lois Lane, Lex Luthor....hmmmm all LL sheesh

Lois Lane, even won a Pulitzer Prize for her essay, "Why the World Doesn't Need Superman." Lois has other issues to contend with--she is now engaged to the editor's nephew and has a young son to look after. Lex Luthon wants to break out of jail hmmmmm Lets hope its worth it!!!

SemiFinals 2

The second semi was nowhere near as dramatic as the first but France will face Italy in Sunday's final in Berlin. A first-half penalty from Zinedine Zidane won the match after a foul by Ricardo Carvalho on Thierry Henry. Portugal dominated possession in the second period but could only create half-chances and their challenge petered out. France 1 Protugal 0

Zidane scores the winner for France from the penalty spot.

We are Rude!!!

Ever since the Reader's Direct came out with the surver on rudenss we have been jumping up and down about it, the point being it that Malaysians are rude, like it or not thats a fact. Exactly how rude we are as compared to others is hardly the point. It doesn’t really matter whether we are the third rudest or the 31st rudest.

Teachers being beaten up by student, MMS of students fighting, bullying, road rage..and the list goes on and on. Juz coz a widely circulated magazine puts us on the map we all jump up and down.

I did read the Reader’s Digest edition and its methodology and I think its a pity that it did not include road courtesy. If it had, then we would really have been in trouble. It’s the same thing with elevators. Malaysians rush into an elevator before the people inside can get out. Same go to LRT and the rest.

Whe it comes to roads, we have the classic road hogs, lane hoppers and queue jumpers and if you ever happen to be courteous behaviour and permit a car to go first, you should not expect any gesture to acknowledge your courtesy.

Dont let me get started when it come to supermarkets and schools. Sigh!!! in the end We are Malaysians!!!

In hindsight we can say we are all not like that but there are some like that. What to do....

World Cup - Semi 1

What a mouth watering tie, I cam back from my outstation trip, sleep or no sleep, tired or not tired this was a game worth watching. 3am I awoke

I was rooting for the Italians (something about the every 12 year cycle of making it to the finals got me going). It was a pulsating game. Italians were flying all over Germany and had them on the back foot. 2nd half the Italians slowed down but they were not afraid of the Germans attacking. I salute the back 4 of the Italians especially Canavaro who showed what an outstanding defender he is, along with Materazzi (standing in for Nesta), Zambrotta and Grosso stodd firm and if any there was a threat, (the world best keeper in my opinon) GG Buffon (corny name aint it) was up to the task.
0-0 full time

Open 5 minutes of extratime the Italians struck the post twice!! talk about hot game. The the game seemingly heading to penalties with 3 minutes left,..... a penalty shoot-out, Grosso fired Italy into the lead. I was jumping for joy coz I won a BET but it was an awesome shot that Lehmann, could do nothing to keep out the curler ... then came the celebration. Shades of 1982 Marco Tadeline (the Rakyat World Cup) celebration as he ran celebrating eyes open screaming with joy.

Then came the 2nd and not one else better to score it.....with a speedy Italian breakaway ended with apass into the path of Del Piero. The striker’s finish was nothing short of perfect, with the ball sent arcing into the postage stamp corner. Elvis has left the building mates and I won a bet (Finally)

World Cup - Quarterfinals - Review

Well the quarterfinals came and gone

Germany vs Argentina
A classic game, Germany was played out by Argentina but they hung on. Pekerman in my opinion did a tactical mistake by taking out 2 of his penalty kickers and not bringing on Messi, Pity they would have been a nice inclusion in the Semi but lost to Germany on Kicks

England vs Portugal
With heartbreak suffered at every penalty shootout at every major competition and again at almost every major competition, England produces an idiot to get a red card. While I admire the English players with the exception of Hawgraves and Ashley Cole the rest did not deserve to be there. Portugal did well and they progressed.

Brazil vs France
What can I say, when you dont play to perform and your coach dont play you to your strengths you WILL LOSE!!! From day one Brazil have not improved only again Japs when the replacement showed the beautiful game. France did well and deserve to go in.

Italy vs Ukraine
Did not bother to watch, knew it was a one sided game. Ukraine are a good team well much betetr the Malaysia but not good enough for this stage

The idiot of the World Cup Award goes Wayne Rooney, protege or not this guy it the idiots of all idiots. Can someone spank his ass

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

Like any car racing movie, you have lots of hot cars. In this movie, the main character, Sean, is basically a rookie driver who gets sent to japan, and works his way up the system, in terms of illegal street racing. Typical plot, you say? There is strong character development, in terms of allies and enemies, and the plot twisted a bit, enough to keep me on the seat, and from leaving. The constant action, less talk, more driving, and some storyline in between works out well, and the way the that the drivers drive, certainly define their personality (agressive, altruistic, insane, conservatively), as they carry that driving personality outside of the streets and track, while on foot.

The cinematography is amazing in most parts, I always felt as though I was gonna crash into the screen or fall off some mountain, 'and the cars were rocking especially 1 row away from the screen

Go watch it!!!

Tires

It was high time for me to change my tires both funding and time was a factor with so many things taking place. Also not like the tyre shops are open after 7pm? I wonder If I would mane a ton of money, if I open a tyre shop after working hours. Having known how babysiew had the tyre thingy in her not so recent blog, I made the effort to go and change it before any more serious repercussion could have taken place.

This was its current condition of wear and tear. Horrible!!! Vadai should have been more responsible

The new Tyres on!!!

So Inconjunction with that here is a brief extract on tyre ( my one call chamber wear woh!!)

Illustrations And Explanation For Tyre Wear

Under Inflation Under Inflation

Under-inflation has caused this tyre to wear on the outer edges of the tread, leaving the central tread area far less worn. The inner-liner can also degrade.

Click here to return to Changing Tyres.

Over Inflation Over Inflation

Over-inflation has resulted in the central tread area being forced into contact with the road causing rapid or crown wear.

Mis-Alignment Mis-Alignment

A typical example of the wear pattern caused by front wheel misalignment, (Toe-in or toe-out). The edge of the tread is "feathered" and worn progressively from one side.

Camber Wear Camber Wear

Excessive wheel camber has caused sloping wear on the outer edge of the tread on one shoulder of this tyre.

Illegal Wear Illegal Wear

This tyre has been used well after reaching the legal minimum pattern depth of 1.6mm across the central ¾ of the tread, going around the complete circumference of the tyre.

Emergency Braking Emergency Braking

An emergency braking manoeuvre with this tyre has caused the tyre to rapidly wear through the complete casing causing the tyre to deflate.

World Cup - Quarterfinals

Firstly, I am one of those who want to give Puyol(Spain) a slap at the back of the head for gifting an unnecessary freekick that gave France the lead.

Having said that, Commie who was dancing to a Ghana Win, Dude you suck!!! Get the ball across the goal line.

Now the quarter finals already

Germany vs Argentina - Damm good one, syok!!! must sit mamak and watch
Italy vs Ukrain - All due respect toe Ukriain, I pass on watching this
England vs Portugal - I watch this is nobody buys me beer, why England (who I admire on paper) have never lived up to their potential and Portugal already lost key players as Jen said .......(forget what Jen said)
Brazil vs France - Hell I aint missing this even for sex, this is going to be a hubba hubba match, the strength of the Brazalian defence will be sorely tested

My mouthwatering ties will be Germany vs Argentina and Brazil vs France

World Cup-Calculating sixth World Cup win for Brazil

Off the NST

THEORIES, predictions and prop- hecies abound about which team will be crowned champion this World Cup.

Quoting soothsayers and other authoritative sources, many feel that it is Europe’s turn to take the title. Some say there is a conspiracy to ensure that defending champions Brazil are denied the cup for the sixth time.

But of the many crystal-gazing guesses making their rounds, I find this one I received via email from a dear friend the other day interesting:

• Brazil won in 1994 and before that it won in 1970: 1970 + 1994 = 3964

• Argentina won its last World Cup in 1986 and before that in 1978: 1978 + 1986 = 3964

• Germany won its last World Cup in 1990 and before that in 1974: 1974 + 1990 = 3964

• In 2002 and 1962, Brazil won the Championships: 1962 + 2002 = 3964

• So it is logical to predict what will happen this year — all that is needed is to look for another year that would verify the formula: 3964-2006 = 1958.

Brazil were the champions in 1958, so we can conclude that Brazil will win this year.

But first, the indomitable South Americans will have to overcome a spirited Ghana tonight.
.....

Futsal - I has a bad game, but I'll be back

Firstly, I admit I did not play well last night despite giving 110%. I played with my heart but there was a dip in my performance.

Being away previous week coz of the exhibition its been a good solid 2 weeks since I exercised, maybe it was the fatigue from the exhibition, to her fact I locked my self inot a stupid argument with a commenter in my blog, or that I took an early dinner. Watever the excuse maybe I had a poor performance and add on to that we had a poorer team, so my passed were not perfect, the ball control not that and many times simple task of brining the ball along I would stumble. This was never going to be an easy evening!!!

Pumped my self, despite being the older team and 3 guys who were not that mobile we did give a good account, at time my keeper was more contend to playing handball and that bugger can sure throw the ball, the prob is, his reach is was over the court length.

We were playing against the team spearheaded by a trio of guys <30.>

My idea when I play the ball move into the space, heck its ain’t a frigging big court, Juz move 4 steps ur in space and you get an inch perfect pass. Was commenting to Jen bout my passing, coz 9/10 if you move into space I can guarantee the ball will come into your feet. Even when I was keeper I could play the game into the open space and 2 “going-to-the-ground” saves makes you feel good and curse the carpet.

I know I can push harder and fight harder. Improving workrate and mental strength. Damm right next week you gonna read a better blog on this subject

Huge Asteroid to Fly Past Earth July 3

An asteroid possibly as large as a half-mile or more in diameter is rapidly approaching the Earth. There is no need for concern, for no collision is in the offing, but the space rock will make an exceptionally close approach to our planet early on Monday, July 3, passing just beyond the Moon's average distance from Earth.

And skywatchers with good telescopes and some experience just might be able to get a glimpse of this cosmic rock as it streaks rapidly past our planet in the wee hours Monday. The closest approach occurs late Sunday for U.S. West Coast skywatchers.

Asteroid 2004 XP14 is a member of a class of asteroids known as Apollo, which have Earth-crossing orbits. The name comes from 1862 Apollo, the first asteroid of this group to be discovered. There are now 1,989 known Apollos.

The size of 2004 XP 14 is not precisely known. But based on its brightness, the diameter is believed to be somewhere in the range of 1,345 to 3,018-feet (410 to 920 meters). That's between a quarter mile and just over a half-mile wide.
