Cricket Update

In cricket a draw is a rare thing especially in a World Cup and it exciting to see a draw

Zimbabwe, Ireland tie match

AFP

Zimbabwe and Ireland played to a thrilling tie in a tense finish to their ICC CWC Group D match at Sabina Park here on Thursday.

Opener Jeremy Bray carried his bat for an undefeated 115 off 137 balls, his second one-day international hundred, to give Ireland a sniff of a chance with a respectable total of 221 for nine off their allocation of 50 overs.

The Zimbabweans appeared to be on course for victory on 203 for five, but they lost their last five wickets for 18 runs in the space of 38 balls to give Ireland a memorable finish to their first match in the ICC CWC.

There have only been two other tied matches in ICC CWC history - South Africa, chasing 213, tied with Australia in 1999 at Birmingham, and Sri Lanka, chasing a revised target of 230 off 45 overs, tied with the Proteas in 2003 at Durban.

An inspiring song

Its Saturday its raining and nice to snuggle and sleep....

Was hanging out by my self the whole of last night not for the sake of not wanting company but sometimes you wanna soak it all in... finally left office by about 7pm... been a hetic day.. drove off to a watering hole I have heard.... a relaxed atmosphere as i Walked in and the bank was playing a tune from Abba. I knew this song since I was a kid and would always sing along awesome

ABBA - The Winner Takes It All

I don't wanna talk
About the things we've gone through
Though it's hurting me
Now it's history
I've played all my cards
And that's what you've done too
Nothing more to say
No more ace to play

The winner takes it all
The loser standing small
Beside the victory
That's her destiny

I was in your arms
Thinking I belonged there
I figured it made sense
Building me a fence
Building me a home
Thinking I'd be strong there
But I was a fool
Playing by the rules

The gods may throw a dice
Their minds as cold as ice
And someone way down here
Loses someone dear
The winner takes it all
The loser has to fall
It's simple and it's plain
Why should I complain.

But tell me does she kiss
Like I used to kiss you?
Does it feel the same
When she calls your name?
Somewhere deep inside
You must know I miss you
But what can I say
Rules must be obeyed

The judges will decide
The likes of me abide
Spectators of the show
Always staying low
The game is on again
A lover or a friend
A big thing or a small
The winner takes it all

I don't wanna talk
If it makes you feel sad
And I understand
You've come to shake my hand
I apologize
If it makes you feel bad
Seeing me so tense
No self-confidence
But you see
The winner takes it all
The winner takes it all...

St Partick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is Ireland's greatest national holiday as well as a holy day. The date marks the anniversary of the death of the missionary who became the patron saint of Ireland. It is a happy holiday for the Irish wherever they may be - in Dublin, New York City, Boston, or San Francisco. The day celebrated with parades, speeches, festive dinners, and dances. Green is the color of the day, with thousands of little cloth shamrocks worn even by those whose forefathers never touched the shores of Ireland.

The first St. Patrick's Day parade took place not in Ireland, but in the United States. Irish soldiers serving in the English military marched through New York City on March 17, 1762. Along with their music, the parade helped the soldiers to reconnect with their Irish roots, as well as fellow Irishmen serving in the English army. Suddenly, annual St. Patrick's Day parades became a show of strength for Irish Americans, as well as a must-attend event for a slew of political candidates. In 1948, President Truman attended New York City 's St. Patrick's Day parade, a proud moment for the many Irish whose ancestors had to fight stereotypes and racial prejudice to find acceptance in America.

Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated worldwide by Irish people and increasingly by many of non-Irish descent (Usually in the US and Ireland) hence the phrase "Every one wants to be Irish on St.Patricks day". Celebrations are generally themed around all things green and Irish; both Christians and non-Christians celebrate the secular version of the holiday by wearing green, eating Irish food, imbibing Irish drink, and attending parades.

In Malaysia me and Commie are Irish tomorrow wakakakakaka

World Cup 2007

As expected Aussie win

Australia crush Scotland by 203 runs

AFP

Ricky Ponting hammered his 23rd one-day century and Glenn McGrath took three wickets to give Australia a thumping ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 203-run win over Scotland here on Wednesday, the second biggest win in the tournament's history.

The Australian skipper notched a 93-ball, 113 to propel the defending champions to 334-6 before the Aussie pace attack proved too hot for the Scotsmen who were bowled out for 131 in 40.1 overs.

Few days back

I had written about assumption... today would be no different, maybe i am weak to allow myself to be subjected to people who have an opinion bout what I write here, bout my action, my thoughts, my way of life that I have chosen. Maybe I am just to nice to the people who talk to me, sms me, chat with me, bending way over back to accommodate such situations.

Maybe that the way I am.

Few days back Svejjen related to me a intellectual discourse he had will Commie bout Theology.

The word 'theology' has classical Greek origins, but was slowly given new senses when it was taken up in both Greek and Latin forms by Christian authors. It is the subsequent history of the term in Christian contexts, particularly in the Latin West, that lies behind most contemporary usage, but the term can now be used to speak of reasoned discourse within and about a variety of different religious traditions.

Today I can speak about God bout religion but any religion, way of life and belief because to a certain extent..A religion is a set of beliefs and practices generally held by a human community, so on and so forth then you have GOD.

Nowe my blog is not a forum to debate out such thing but in my humble opinion, even an Atheist like me. Yes I am on am qualified to talk bout such thing even though I dun believe in them.

There is no one on this place we call earth can stop another bout talking about other belief so long it is done gentlemanly. Thats called an intellectual discourse. Do not for a second try to use the punch line just coz does not believe in God he/she not qualified to talk bout it

Hey its Free Speech dude... its free speech

James Taylor - Carolina In My Mind

I was entertaining some client at HRC then Crossroad when I heard Mark playing, the conversation stopped ans we all enjoyed the song.

Ironically some people take other poeple song and make deductions on why they posted the song. Sigh

Song have innuendos and there are fuel to fire. Sometimes we got to appreciate the song for what it is

James Taylor - Carolina In My Mind

In my mind I'm goin' to Carolina
Can't you see the sunshine
Can't you just feel the moonshine
Maybe just like a friend of mine
It hit me from behind
Yes I'm goin' to Carolina in my mind

Karin she's a silver sun
You best walk her way and watch it shinin'
Watch her watch the mornin' come
A silver tear appearing now I'm cryin'
Ain't I goin' to Carolina in my mind

There ain't no doubt it no ones mind
That loves the finest thing around
Whisper something soft and kind
And hey babe the sky's on fire, I'm dyin'
Ain't I goin' to Carolina in my mind

In my mind I'm goin' to Carolina
Can't you see the sunshine
Can't you just feel the moonshine
Maybe just like a friend of mine
It hit me from behind
Yes I'm goin' to Carolina in my mind

Dark and silent last last night
I think I might have heard the highway calling
Geese in flight and dogs that bite
Signs that might be omens say I going, going
I'm goin' to Carolina in my mind

With a holy host of others standing 'round me
Still I'm on the dark side of the moon
And it seems like it goes on like this forever
You must forgive me
If I'm up and gone to Carolina in my mind

In my mind I'm goin' to Carolina
Can't you see the sunshine
Can't you just feel the moonshine
Maybe just like a friend of mine
It hit me from behind
Yes I'm goin' to Carolina in my mind

Evanescence - Call Me When You're Sober

Evanescence was founded by singer, pianist and songwriter Amy Lee and former lead guitarist and songwriter Ben Moody.

* Amy Lee - vocals, piano, keyboard (co-founder, July 1994 - present)
* Terry Balsamo - guitar (November 2003 - present)
* John LeCompt - guitar, vocals (2002 - present)
* Tim McCord - bass (August 2006 - present)
* Rocky Gray - drums (2002 - present)

From the same group dat brought you Bring my to Life, this track is friggin cold and hauntign and hurting. Shows pain and emotions suppressed Damm kewl

Amy Lee said the song was not about Shaun Morgan but about former bandmate and ex boyfriend Ben Moody. She also said she didn't hate him, she just never wanted to talk to him again. That he was almost like a poison. Which makes sense with the you can't play the victim part of the song.

Don’t cry to me, If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me, Come find me
Make up your mind

Should I let you fall, And lose it all
So maybe you can remember yourself
Can’t keep believing, We’re only deceiving
Ourselves and I’m sick of the lie
And you’re too late

So don’t cry to me, If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me, Come find me
Make up your mind

Couldn’t take the blame, Sick with shame
Must be exhausting to loose your own game
Selfishly hated, No wonder you’re jaded
You can’t play the victim this time
And you’re too late

So don’t cry to me, If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me, Come find me
Make up your mind

You never call me when you’re sober
You only want it ‘cause it’s over,It’s over

How could I, Have burned paradise?
How could I?, You were never mine

So don’t cry to me, If you loved me
You would be here with me
Don’t lie to me, Just get your things
I’ve made up your mind

Music - Guitar

Corrected DATE so dun give people wrong impression

I love music, especially live bands and live solo musicians.

I have written so much bout Bala (Waikiki) hat I am gonna leave him out this time.

Mark (Concorde) is awesome, lovely personality plays his own and you can sit back after a hard days work and listen to him. Tried convincing Jen so much that the day he showed up Mark was car prob. Cripes.

Every Monday at Waikiki a 3 piece jazz fusion precussion combo group plays.. absolutely awesome to listen to. A place where you can sit back... raise ur legs and lets alll the troubles float away

Now this buddy of mine is a real piece of work. A musical mindand he can even sing. 3rd place in the Bisik Karaoke contest I known him over 6 years. A nice loud fella.

A different Monday 2 days ago

They Monday always bring the blues. True it does but March 12 for me was a different Monday. Coming to my office as usually no different, having the same ritual of brushing my teeth or taking a bath driving thru the same traffic.

Parking my ass on the seat soon the girls were surrounding my cubicle being busy... a bit unusual but not out of the ordinary.. soon 2 became 3 and then became 5. I was doing my usualy routine checking my emails and stuff when A had lastly arrived and parked herself and they broke out with a Birthday song.

Hahaha how touching... really did not expect it.... they are nice. After the birthday song finished their wishes and returned to their own workstations. I decided to treat them lunch Pizza!! I asked CT who spearheaded the singing session in the morning. Had to dig into the bottom of my wallet to cover lunch it was worth it.

Our office has a policy that we contribute monthly RM 5 bucks for a monthly birthday celebration. That means that all staff whose birthday falls is that month will be celebrated with a cake and food on one particular day towards the end of the month.

To my surprise after I paid for the pizza, I was called back to the pantry and to my utter surprise, there was a personal cake from the girls at the office. Thats nice of them I think CT was the culprit. Having the need to blow candles again.... mind you in one puff... soon a few other joined in for a pizza lunch.

Still there will be one more for all the staff in March.

Thanks office people

So called frens who behave like idiots

I hate people who at one stage goody goody buddy buddy leading you into a false sense of pretense and you trust them. You treat them with the same ideologies and trust and open your insecurities.

In a flash, one fine day its get uprooted and they are gone like nothign happened. It burns you with rage to find that all this was an illusion. Its not ur fault coz you trust what people present themselves to be true and ask you to trust what they are. So you trust

Sigh I am gonna stop here

Relationship (From the web) some people should read this

What is the value to anyone to explicitly define a relationship with another person? What is the value of making it public to that person? Is there value to the network operator for data mining/marketing purposes? Is there value to the greater network?

Dun get emotional or sentimental....

Behold RELATIONSHIP, a vocabulary for describing relationships between people.

Boyd and Herr Weinberger are more eloquent than I on the subject of of making the tacit explicit, but this thing is self-critiquing.

Here, just in case you were wondering, is how you should be characterizing your relationships with one another:
friendOf, acquaintanceOf, parentOf, siblingOf, childOf, grandchildOf, spouseOf, enemyOf, antagonistOf, ambivalentOf, lostContactWith, knowsOf, wouldLikeToKnow, knowsInPassing, knowsByReputation, closeFriendOf, hasMet, worksWith, colleagueOf, collaboratesWith, employerOf, employedBy, mentorOf, apprenticeTo, livesWith, neighborOf, grandparentOf, lifePartnerOf, engagedTo, ancestorOf, descendantOf, participantIn, participant of

Describing relationships with a controlled vocabulary can sound credible right up to the moment you see the vocabulary, but this thing is a mess.

When oyu assume to much u fall down the hill and u burn ur self. Dun waste time be real and simple in the end the world will be a better place

Waterfalls and my Sunday

Jen who was supposed to bring his family to my place to use the pool on Sunday, change the plans and said he was going to the waterfalls and asked me to join him. The idea though tiring sounded worth of going. Did not have anything to looose.

So how did my Sunday turnout... while some people like to assume things and judge the outcome I rather lay it out bear here and let history judge for it self.

Woke up Sunday morning and drove down to Kajang, meeting Teddy there to go hav 'Lat Thong' with Andy and his wife. They are a lovely couple and hosted us well. The Spicy soup pork based was mouthwaterign and filling and the company was beter. We sapu bersih. Ironically the shop is based beside a chinese temple in Kajang. Note: Dun ask Teddy for directions

After the soup headed to waterfall off Templars park. Near my place ther ewa sa convoy of policemen on bikes bout 100 bikes a quick snap shot of it.

The waterfall, it not easy to have s stanger of sorts in a family outing, I am glad Jen's family are warm to me as I am to them, they are a kewl bunch. Reached there by 2pm there are 7 waterfalls there and I joined them at the 3rd.

It was beautiful and awesome... must bring junior vadai here. nice place but the crowd was a bit stupid...

Dead Man Walking

A dead man walking is someone who is in great trouble and will certainly get punished, lose their job or position, etc, soon.

A chant we hear more often the not.

Back to the powerful movie.. Ultimately, the questions come back to capital punishment. They're all familiar. Is Matthew going to be executed because he was too poor to hire a fat-cat lawyer ("Ain't nobody with money on death row")? Is there a moral difference when the State kills as opposed to an individual? Should justice be based on the "eye for an eye" edict or the one that says to "turn the other cheek"? In his 1988 film, A Short Film About Killing, Kieslowski asked the same things in a much different manner. Like Robbins, he arrived at certain conclusions, but -- also like Robbins -- he didn't force them on the audience. There's no preaching in either film. Only in subtle details does it becomes clear that neither director can condone the government taking a life. Go watch it again

Happyness

I want people to go and see it, just a thoroughly class movie. Excellent acting, particularly between Smith and his son, depeciting a very harsh reality of life at that time. Please take the time to watch this movie, whether you think about the message it portrays or not and believe me there are a lot.

i really enjoyed watching this movie and would highly recommend any single parent, father or mother, who have struggled to make ends meet to see this movie.

there are parts in the movie that allow you to feel the pain and frustration he is feeling in the movie. all the questions and problems they are dealing with aren't any different than what every person in this country is dealing with in one form or another.

Walking around with no money in ur wallet, trying to make ends meet wiht 2 jobs, putting aside ur shame ot borrow monet, trying t to hold you head thru life. god so many phases I could relate to.

Synopsis,

In 1981, Chris Gardner was a struggling salesman in little needed medical bone density scanners while his wife toiled in double shifts to support the family including their young son, Christopher. In the face of this difficult life, Chris has the desperate inspiration to try for a stockbroker internship where one in twenty has a chance of a lucrative full time career. Even when his wife leaves him because of this choice, Chris clings to this dream with his son even when the odds become more daunting by the day. Together, father and son struggle through homelessness, jail time, tax seizure and the overall punishing despair in a quest that would make Gardner a respected millionaire.

Badminton versus Hockey

Already my Wed were lined up with Badminton now my hockey moved to Web nights at 8.30pm.

I am kind of a dilemma as both are games I really want to play but it would be killing me if I was to do badminton 6-8pm and hockey 8.30-10pm.

Badminton make me move in short burst improving my cardio and very challenging, hockey on the other hand for me makes me mobile... was talking to Jen about alternate weeks.

Has a good session yesterday moving a lot but there was just too many members showing up. My stickwork need improvement

Sometimes being

... being nice, being courtous, being gentlemanly, being polite in life aint what it used to be. We can lament till the cows come home but sometimes you can realise that being nice allows ur self to be taken advantage of. Its not like I am advocating to be nasty all the time but at time we have to do what we dislike the most to be happier. Even if it mean being masty.

Routine Medical Checkup

Going to go away for a few days for a routine medical checkup..... nothing to shout about you as J my cousin who is a doc there been pestering me to come .. so to satisfy him and some family members with all the illness and death going around... submitted to it to it.

I probably grab Jnr Vadai along the way.

Got these from an e-mail

Sometimes not always sometimes I am damn supprise that how bloody ture it can be

Fine
This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

Five Minutes
If she is getting dressed, this is half an hour.
Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given 5 more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

Nothing
This is the calm before the storm. This means "something" and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with "nothing" usually end in "fine".

Go Ahead
This is a dare, not permission, DON'T DO IT!

Loud Sigh
Although not actually a word, the loud sigh is often misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing".

That's Okay
This is one of the most dangerous statements that woman can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

Thanks
This is the least used of all words in the female vocabulary. If a woman is thanking you. Do not question it, just say you're welcome and back out of the room slowly.

Anyone like to add in somemore?

Seldom can a 1-0 reverse have been received so rapturously. As a sea of scarves engulfed Anfield and a suitably reverential version of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' echoed around it, Barcelona's victory on the night appeared an irrelevance. Theirs was a hollow triumph, Liverpool's a heroic defeat.

If the loss to Manchester United by the same scoreline seemed unfortunate, this was an injustice. But as the 2006 Champions League winners exited at the hands of the predecessors, the result on the night mattered not. The significant score was Liverpool 2 Barcelona 2; the away goals rule will be cherished on Merseyside for years to come.

The performance should be, too. For the second time in a fortnight, Rafael Benitez out-thought Frank Rijkaard, Steve Finnan subdued Ronaldinho, Momo Sissoko covered untold miles and Jamie Carragher defied anyone and anything that crossed his path.

My Forum Buddy in town

Well he juz buzzed me he is town, most probably met him for a drink. A nice buddy tha I know for almost 6 years

Boooyaaa

The pleasure of Monday

It was not the worst of Mondays, I challenged a few people at work and at home to be all they can be.. blerks... there was a spanner thrown in the works of a function that I was gonna organize but then again I have come to expect that.

While chatting with Jen, I laments how women when having difference at work can boil down to real bitchyness and hate. Amazing. In one stroke of an event it almost grinds the train to a halt.

Futsal after a 2 week break was great not awesome. I played a floating midfielder taking long range shots and at time my alignment was way out. My tough shots were predictable but my subtle touches was more amazing which resulted in 4 goals. 13 of us played and by the end I was sweating buckets.

Its funny but many a times I am lazy, I got a friggin pool at home but I probably have had more BBQ then actually swim in the pool. Sunday was my 1st session there. Last night after futsal I decided why not. Came back straight home dived into an empty pool then only one watching me was the moon.

Dammm it was awesome, soaked in the pool swam a few laps its was majestic to see the moon and feel the pool... I made up my mind to swim more often now all I need to do is get off me ass.

Someone told me about being lonely so Igrabbed this remark.

"The big pleasure is the same as the big downside: You get to -- and have to -- make all your decisions about your life yourself. You're not dealing with the consequences of anyone else's irrationalities, poor planning, fears about life. You get to think as big as you possibly can, and then go act on it."

WIFE'S DIARY VS HUSBAND'S DIARY

WIFE's DIARY

Sunday night.

I thought he was acting weird.

We had made plans to meet at a cafe to have coffee.

I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was
upset that I was a bit late, but he made no comment.

Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere
quiet so we could talk.

He agreed but he kept quiet and absent.

I asked him what was wrong.

He said: "Nothing."

I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset.

He said it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry.

On the way home I told him that I loved him.

He simply smiled and kept driving.

I can't explain his behavior;

I don't know why he didn't say: "I love u, too."

When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted
nothing to do with me anymore.

He just sat there and watched TV; he seemed distant and absent.

Finally, I decided to go to bed.

About 10 minutes later he came to bed.

I could not take it anymore, so I decided to confront him with the

situation but he had fallen asleep.

I started crying and cried until I too fell asleep.

I don't know what to do.

I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.

My life is a disaster.

Vodka many uses - Thanks Commie

VODKA
Who knew!!!!

1. To remove a bandage painlessly, saturate the bandage with vodka. The solvent dissolves adhesive.

2. To clean the caulking around bathtubs and showers, fill a trigger-spray bottle with vodka, spray the caulking, let set five minutes and wash clean. The alcohol in the vodka kills mold and mildew

3. To clean your eyeglasses, simply wipe the lenses with a soft, clean cloth dampened with vodka. The alcohol in the vodka cleans the glass and kills germs.

4. Prolong the life of razors by filling a cup with vodka and letting your safety razor blade soak in the alcohol after shaving. The vodka disinfects the blade and prevents rusting.

5. Spray vodka on vomit stains, scrub with a brush, and then blot dry.

6. Using a cotton ball, apply vodka to your face as an astringent to cleanse the skin and tighten pores.

7. Add a jigger of vodka to a 12-ounce bottle of shampoo. The alcohol of healthy hair.

8. Fill a sixteen-ounce trigger-spray bottle and spray bees or wasps to kill them.

9. Pour one-half cup vodka and one-half cup water in a Ziploc freezer bag and freeze for a slushy, refreshable ice pack for aches, pain or black eyes.

10. Fill a clean, used mayonnaise jar with freshly packed lavender flowers, fill the jar with vodka, seal the lid tightly and set in the sun for three days. Strain liquid through a coffee filter, then apply the tincture to aches and pains.

11. To relieve a fever, use a washcloth to rub vodka on your chest and back as a liniment.

12. To cure foot odour, wash your feet with vodka.

13 Vodka will disinfect and alleviate a jellyfish sting.

14. Pour vodka over an area affected with poison ivy to remove the urushiol oil from your skin.

15. Swish a shot of vodka over an aching tooth Allow your gums to absorb some of the alcohol to numb the pain.

And silly me.

I've only been drinking the stuff!!!

Time to grief

Although it is an inevitable part of life, death is something that few of us like to think about, never discuss

Grief is a very personal thing and how you grieve is different for each individual. There is no wrong or right way to grieve, just where you are at the time. The most important thing is to be able to talk to those close to you, tell them how you feel and listen and understand if they are feeling differently. Me if I cant find anyone to relate to I shut down I pack it is and like Jen said compartmentalize and move.

They say grief passes with time, memories dim and we move on in live. I dont know if that is tru but as I look back in my life of the people who are close to me who have passed on like my 1st gfren who dies when she was with me, my dad passing away, my grand parents, my uncles my family.... lots of passing away

This was a bad week for me I drop the baton a while.... I did not want to share this with people who are close to me as I know they would Some were sensible to stay and keep quiet some where not but I cant blame them as they were expressing concern

... I picked up the phone to chat with Jnr and we had a lovely conversation... If there is anyone who can bring a smile to my face it would be him... we were supposed to go play with elephants and I told him we do it next week. There will be time to grief but also to smile also

The Wira got banged on the passanger side today morning after dropping Jnr at school. The driver was cutting right and crashed in.

What else could go wrong?

Knowing when to step back

Relationships are a funny thing especially new relationships and especially on the younger ones. After introducing my cuz to Siemens there been a lot of background work he did. I liked it when his comments that "she seems popular and like got lots of friends, I dun wan tot get hurt again!"

My reply is simple "Dun stereotype get to know the girl before drawing the conclusion, hey if it did not work out at least you can say you tried."

Take the initiative

When frens hang out its different when people who are trying to take the next step are hanging out. I been in many a situation when frens and frens are starting out something or at least trying. The simplest thing is step back give them the space and enjoy your night, but dont let it bother you, it should not.

Even if my frens bring a date to a frens gathering aint big of a deal... the idea is to rememebr why you are the and enjoy

Kids

Nostalgic

Still blur, dazed but not as bad as yesterday. Trying to laugh watching Everybody Loved Raymond (its a good show)

He does not want to meet anyone.. I dun blame him... I wouldnt.. dun want to... same way I rather not talk about it and pack it all it not even with the people I currently live with... thru the moments flashback takes me to time spent good bad ugly and beautiful thru him.

In a space of 2 months a second event of this magnitude. Probably wait and see.... was locked up in my room playing the radio when a song from many a years ago played out over the airwaves... another insomnia night for me

It was a group called Kenny Remy Martin... the meaning is so appropriate so fucking appropriate

Song: SURATAN ATAU KEBETULAN
Sesuatu yang tak disangka
Seringkali mendatangi kita
Itukah suratan dalam kehidupan
Atau hanya satu kebetulan

Kita asyik membicarakan
Persoalan hidup dan pilihan
Sedang kejujuran semakin berkurang
Masih tiada bertemu jawapan

( korus 1)
Walau kita dihadapkan
Dengan berbagai pilihan
Mengapa sering terjadi
Pilihan tak menepati

( korus 2 )
Hingga amat menakutkan
Menghadapi masa depan
Seolah telah terhapus
Sebuah kehidupan yang kudus

Pertemuan sekali ini
Bagi diriku amat bererti
Tetapi ku bimbang untuk menyatakan
Bimbangkan berulang kesilapan

( ulang dari korus 1)

The Long Walk With Bah (finale)

We made the decision to stop all procedures.

He had suffered enough. If it is time for him to go, we shall not stop him anymore.

We camped there all night, taking turn to stare at the monitor which shows all the graph. He looked very calm under heavy sedation.

Surprisingly, he wakes up in the morning like nothing ever happen. Physically he looks fine accept for some minor difficulty in controlling certain limbs. His speech is a bit slurred but recognizable. However, he lost all the memory of the past twelve hours. He keeps thinking he is in Hospital Sungai Buloh, and we keep reminding him that he is in SJMC. Until today, I do not figure out about this Sungai Buloh thing. I tried to trace any lead to it but futile. It linger as a mystery he than took to the grave.

He also mumbles things he never discussed before. He said he always wanted my sister to be a politician, I interrupt him and said, but you always hates politician.

Soon, he was moved to a normal ward due to the request we make earlier. As we gathered around him, Bah uttered something that none of us want to remember but we can never forget.

“Please forgive me, I am a loser,” he said. “No Bah, No,” Bu, my eldest sister argued while trying to keep her composure. “No Acik, I am a loser, forgive me. Please don’t be like me…”

“I should have stayed in the army, I would have retired as a general, you all will not have to face all the hard time…”

“No Bah, you did what you believe is right, we never wanted anything but for you to be happy”, my lawyer sis cried and hug my Dad.

“You could have been the general’s daughter, Intan”. “I do not want to be the general’s daughter, I just wanted to be your daughter”.

“I am a bad father, I could not give you anything”.

“Bah, you give us the world, we are happy”

“We are always proud of you Bah!” My brother in law finally breaks his silence.

“I should have stayed in the army, I could have retired as the general… I am a loser”.

There is no way we could stop him from all the rumbling. We could just gather around him and embrace him.

As we brought him home, Tun Haniff, his good friend waited at the gate to greet the Colonel. Tun keeps telling me, “It’s too soon. It cannot be. It cannot be.”

I arranged for my Ustaz friend to be with him that night. Ustaz managed to ask him few things and for the very first time, I heard my dad talk about something that he never talked to us before. I swear I remembered all his military tales but not these few things.

My dad talks about how his hand still felt the warm blood of his men that died during The Emergency and The Insurgency. He talked about all the promises he made to those fallen heroes.

This reminded me to one particular moment when Uwei Hajisaari asked my dad about the Communist Terrorist, while having lunch in PJ. My father said, if I was in Hadyai (Referring to the signing ceremony between the Government and PKM), I will stare them in the eye and will never shake hand with them, bandits!

In front of the Ustaz, my dad relates all the incidents and cited all the names of his men that died in combat under his command. He never had forgotten them.

Then, he started to move into another direction. He talked about those men and women that he had shot in battlefield. “Will God ever forgive me, Ustaz?”.

After the incident, Tun Haniff arranged for me to bring my Dad to Kunming, in PR of China, to seek alternative medicine there. Tun paid for everything. The entourage included the late General (Rtd) Othman “Otto” and his family. During the trip, I had to admit, my dad is half the man he used to be. He lost his pride. He felt worthless. He can only take five steps at a time. Then he had to rest. I never offered him a wheel chair because I know my Colonel well.

Back from China, my dad looks much healthier. We registered him for experimental drugs under the care of Nilai Cancer Centre. Nevertheless, every two weeks, he needs to remove fluids from his lung. We are now staring at our credit card’s bills. One by one started to reach its limit. Then my lawyer sister and my step mum started to borrow money to finance Bah’s medical bill.

Over the next twelve months, it cost both of them almost hundred K. Then, I started to feel Bah becoming more and more restless. He keeps worrying about the bills.

Murphy’s Law, my sis and step mum started to quarrel regarding financial. I cannot blame any of them. It was the lowest point in our battle for Bah’s survival. My lawyer sis is in the midst of marital problem with her husband. The pressure was hard on her, as she has to behave as though everything is normal for Bah’s sake.

At the same time, my marriage too heading south. I had to excuse myself from several family gathering just to keep thing away from Bah. One day, I invited Bah and my step mum for dinner. Both of us behave like nothing-bad happening. I grill red meat for Bah, as I know it is his favorites. Bah brought a set of Matchbox cars for Al and Wef. Wef was very close to his Atuk and he does inherit a lot from dad.

That was the last time he came to our house. That was also the last time, my kids saw Atuk alive.

Two weeks later, while I was high of cocktail of drugs to consol my depression and tonsillitis, I received a message from my eldest sister. “Bah in SJMC. Not looking well. Please bro, he needs you here”. I was too high to drive but promised to be there the next morning.

Early in the morning, I was thinking whether I should bring the kids along to the hospital or send them to school. I make a fatal error of judgment. Nevertheless, as I arrived at the hospital, Bah looks as buoyant as ever.

“You were away?” “Yes Bah”, I lied. He asked about the kids. I realized his blood pressure is very low and he looked very sleepy. We have a short chat before my aunties and uncles arrived. I make way for them and watch him from the other side of the glass.

At about two, the specialist called us. Bah’s kidney had failed. His blood pressure keeps falling. They are not going to do anything accept to continue administer him with drug to keep him calm. I was told that his cancer had spread to his bone and other organ as well.

I make another fatal decision. I choose to leave for home to see the kids and come back later in the evening. Before I left, I wanted to kiss him only to reverse my decision after watching him being surrounded by too many relatives.

I stop at Jaya Supermarket to get some food to store at home because I reckon I might have to be at the hospital overnight.

As I arrived home, I received a phone call from Bu, “Di, come now”.

I arrived back at SJMC around five thirty. Bah is already unconscious. Tun Hanif stands beside his bed. He keeps staring at the monitor. Every time Bah’s oxygen level temporarily increase, Tun will nod his head and shifted to look at Bah and turn towards the window and stare endlessly outside.

Within the next hour, all relatives and friends of Bah were there by his bedside.

Bah, looks very calm, both his eyes were wide open staring towards infinity. His mouth is gasping for air. Nevertheless, he is very composed. Around seven thirty, the nurse approached us and said, time have come to say goodbye.

From the bedside, I could hear the Azan. I whispered the shahada to his ears and recited the Azan. Very soon, he leaves peacefully. I put my palm on his eyelid and push it gently. I lost my one and only dad. I am never going to see him again.

While waiting for all the documentation and transport arrangement, one General from Mindef arrived. He assured us that everything will be taken care off. At last, he received the honor he long deserved.

The next day as I laid him at the liang lahat, I take a good look and whisper, “This is your Last Castle Bah. You fought for this soil and it shall be yours forever. Goodbye Bah. Goodbye Colonel”.

A man in military uniform extends his hand to me and pulls me up to leave my dad in his castle.

Bah, you had fought so many battles in your live. You win some and lose some. Today you have won the war.

Please forgive me for all the years of ignorance. Please forgive me for not being able to give you the love you long waited from me. I am so sorry. Please forgive me.

Aint life Great

This one for commie

A stranger was seated next to Little Johnny on the plane when the stranger turned to the Little Johnny and said, "Let's talk. I've heard that flights will go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."

Little Johnny, who had just opened his book, closed it slowly, and said to the stranger, "What would you like to discuss?"

"Oh, I don't know," said the stranger. "How about nuclear power?"

"OK," said Little Johnny. "That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. "A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat grass. The same stuff. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?"

"Jeez," said the stranger. "I have no idea."

"Well, then," said Little Johnny, "How is it that you feel qualified to discuss nuclear power when you don't know shit?"

In the end

Death is generally accepted as the inevitable conclusion of our journey on earth. Some embrace it; others live in fear of it. Despite our individual reactions many religious persons find solace in the thought of a better life after death. As a result although we may dread the hour and mode of our death, many draw strength from their spiritual grounding.
However, how many of us would choose death for the sake of our beliefs? How many would find the strength to overcome the uncertainties in our minds? This is not an admonition. This is a question that I, like most persons I suspect, would have great difficulty answering. Even when we feel we are in a spiritually strong position, the mind's power to focus our thoughts negatively and illuminate our doubts must never be underestimated. Though the spirit is strong, the mind…

So I ask myself all that I say and I do is so open and simple and yet some choose to judge if it is for real or not, and especially when a set of circumstance, event, and tragedies all but gives the faintest whiff, the smallest illusion the guns come out blaring and being the egoistical idiot I am, I go and entertain and defend.

And I think to my self aloud... if the choices I make and the action I take allow people to question so be it because in the end they would be my choices that they would have to live with right or wrong let them be my legacy coz in the end right or wrong i pay the price for it.

How can something be so simple and yet people make a meal out of it and the icing on the cake would be suckers like me addressing it

Prior to the week I was quiet busy over the weekend preparing for the club AGM as this is my social hockey club. I undertook the Treasurer's post as in an acting capacity as the club was in crisis and the President appealed to me (being too nice syndrome).

I had revamped the structure of the club in terms of the Finance process, introducing vouchers and reducing debts and making the dues payment simple and convenient for the members. My perception is simple, a social club must run like a business, simple, transparent and to the point.

At the AGM I further introduced the club financial position, debtors took the auditors report and simplified the explanations so everyone could understand. I was touched when I got a standing ovation for it. Totally unexpected.

When it came to the election of the office bearers, heck I was returned unopposed.

Made me day. Nice to be recognised

Stages of Cancer

Here is a brief summary of what the stages mean:

  • Stage 1 usually means a cancer is relatively small and contained within the organ it started in
  • Stage 2 usually means the cancer is localised, but the tumour is larger than in stage 1. Sometimes stage 2 means there are nearby lymph nodes that have cancer cells in.
  • Stage 3 usually means the cancer is larger and there are cancer cells in the lymph nodes in the area
  • Stage 4 means the cancer has spread from where it started to another body organ, such as the liver, bones or lungs
