Short circuit - A clarifying point

This a so-called big mouth engineer degree versus sifu.

What is Short Circuit

A short circuit (sometimes abbreviated to short or s/c) is an accidental low-resistance connection between two nodes of an electrical circuit that are meant to be at different voltages.

Explanation

In circuit analysis, the term short circuit is used by analogy to designate a zero-impedence connection between two nodes. This forces the two nodes to be at the same voltage. In an ideal short circuit, this means there is no resistance and no voltage drop across the short. In simple circuit analysis, wires are considered to be shorts. In real circuits, the result is a connection of nearly zero impedance, and almost no resistance. In such a case, the current drawn is limited by the rest of the circuit.

Example

A short circuit is to connect the positive and negative terminals of a battery together with a low-resistance conductor, like a wire. With low resistance in the connection, a high current flows, causing the cell to deliver a large amount of energy in a short time. (See also:

Ohm's law, power).

In electrical devices, unintentional short circuits are usually caused when a wire's insulation breaks down, or when another conducting material (such as water) is introduced, allowing charge to flow along a different path than the one intended.

MY style of explaining

Short Circuit: If electricity has a choice between travelling through

a device (high resistance) or a wire (low resistance) it will always choose the wire! And because it can travel much faster with low resistance, electricity creates more heat in a short circuit. If you feel your batteries getting hot, you've got a short circuit! Disconnect a wire to the battery a.s.a.p. because the batteries will quickly be ruined.

For the record wiht my limited engineering knowledge, air kenot short circuit. 1000 apologies sifu

Another one for the weekend - one I can relate to

"John Milton: There's this beautiful girl just fucked me forty ways from Sunday... we're done, she's walking to the bathroom, she's trying to walk, she turns... she looks... it's me. Not the Trojan army just fucked her. Little ol' me. She gets this look on her face like: "How the hell did that happen?""

Mr.Jen.... hows this for a home run!!!

The Hunt for the Red October

Part of my movie weekend selection. A gripping lovely movie and book I could never get bored of.

Based on the Best Selling novel by Tom Clancy this film tells the story of Captain Marko Ramius, the skipper of the Soviet Union's newest nuclear sub. Jack Ryan of the CIA gets involved in a tense, tangled hunt for this sub, when Ramius defects, taking the "Red October" with him. The story is an action packed techno-thriller.

This movie is not entirely true to Tom Clancy's vision and book. Tom Clancy is an American superpatriot and nationalist. He loves to gush about the superiority of the American military establishment and its high technology. This movie puts a more sympathetic face on the Russians and the commoner's point of view. Sean Connery plays a very likable Russian Submarine Commander. Of course, Sean Connery is always going to steal the show in any movie. He's kind of like the John Wayne of the last twenty five years. But the supporting actors are also engaging as well. Scott Glenn, Fred Thompson, and James Earl Jones all do very well at commanding our attention.

Among the parts that I loved in the movie... between Ryan and Jordan's Jeffrey Pelt where Ryan sticks his neck out and Pelt pounces, telling the analyst that if he believes Ramius is defecting, he should go out there and try to collect him. Pelt's no humanitarian, understand, he just wants to keep his options open: "Listen, I'm a politician, which means I'm a cheat and a liar, and when I'm not kissing babies I'm stealing their lollipops." hahaha

"The Hunt for Red October" is one of those rare thrillers that manages to keep you interested and excited the entire time. Not many movies today come close to being on-par with this. This is a classic thriller that keeps you asking for more. It has great acting and directing, and it will keep you on your feet the entire time.

Quotes

Capt. Bart Mancuso: [after hearing Jones's findings] Have I got this straight, Jonesy? A $40 million computer tells you you're chasing an earthquake, but you don't believe, and you come up with this on your own?
Seaman Jones: Yes, sir.
Capt. Bart Mancuso: Including all the navigation maps?
Seaman Jones: Sir, I-I've got all the...
Capt. Bart Mancuso: Relax, Jonesy. You sold me.

Captain Ramius: There's one thing you haven't yet asked me: why?
Jack Ryan: Well, I thought you would tell me when you felt ready.
Captain Ramius: Well, there are those who believe that we should attack the United States first. Settle everything in one moment. Red October was built for that purpose.

Poltical Officer Ivan Putin: [Reading from a book belonging to Ramius, quoting the Bible] And the seventh angel poured his bowl into the air, and a voice cried out from heaven, saying: "It is done." A man with your responsibilities reading about the end of the world. And what's this? "I am become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds."
Captain Ramius: It is an ancient Hindu text, quoted by an American.
Poltical Officer Ivan Putin: An American?
Captain Ramius: Mmm. He invented the atomic bomb, and was later accused of being a communist.

The Apprentice Foreman

hahaha!! This is one episode I wont get fired from so they are stuck with me!!!!

How this came about ... Jen has always been offering me the ooportunity to work on my car at his garage, way back from even before his daughters birthday. The distance, the inexperience, the humility of going there was causing a lot of hinderance not to mention the tightening of the wallet. Push come to shove, my quiet, but draining weekend (ahhhhhhh) turned into a fun Sunday after some work I headed to his place bout lunch time.

We started working on the car, Project Nissan Sunny. Like the series American chopper there are times when the Sifu must step in and there are times you must step up to the place. Without the fear of being blur, I asked the questions to then my knowledge bout car maintenance and servicing would grow. I did hands on a various number of things and there are times I would ask that I do some of the tasks.

We worked on the following, Window Washer and pump, the air-condition, the wiring and the radiator fan. The Window washer pump ( I owe Jen one set and Jen owes his dad 1 set) was services , rehosed and being an old car. The mechanics of resetting the nozzle and flushing the nozzle was not an easy task. The finished result was a success.

The aircond was toughie, learned how to actually service the aircond, vacuuming it, the importance of refrigeration oil and getting it to work again. Jen, I did not forget to put the window up today morning hahaha and yes I felt the cold air. I did not dare ask Jen bout taking pics of me working on the car, with the fingers all greasy.

I got under the car, into the car, learn how to use the proper tools. Tube cutting, flaring etc etc Got all greasy arrhggh arrghhh arrghg (ala Tim - Home Improvement)

The wiring was not an easy task. We had to call the Sifu's Sifu. The Sifu's Sifu landed with manual for the car, the frigging schematics for the wiring the cables.

Salute the Sifu's Sifu

A break for tea to recharge and refresh we got back to work on the radiator fan, we noted that the bypass was done on the fan and it made it on from the onset instead of operating only when the temperature rose.

We finished, tired drained and beaming with pride of the task we accomplished...headed back to Jen's Place....

Saving Private Ryan - How much is one life worth??

In the Last Great Invasion of the Last Great War, The Greatest Danger for Eight Men was Saving... One.
During WWII, Chief of Staff, General Marshall is informed that three of a woman's sons have been killed and that she's going to receive the notifications of their demise at the same time. And when he learns that a fourth son is still unaccounted for, the General decides to send a unit to find him and bring him back, despite being told that it's highly unlikely that he is still alive and the area that he was known to be at is very dangerous. So the unit consisting of 8 men are sent to find him but as stated it's very dangerous and one by one, each of them are being picked off.

This a story, within a story...There are not many films that I've seen that have actually made me physically react to the action on screen. I'm not speaking of the three-dimensional variety either. What I mean to say is this film had me contorting and cringing at the gripping, horrifying action on screen. Somehow the extreme violence can be justified as the whole world knows that this is an important chapter in human history and a startling, graphic depiction only adds more weight to the seriousness of the subject matter. I'd have to say this is probably one of the most important films of the 20th century because of its frank approach to one of the darkest periods of our time on this earth... along side with Schindler's List and Band of Brothers.

I like war movies I like the motion the characters go thur and the emotions I go thru.......This is definetely one of my top movies to watch. It includes a great cast, great action and a great story. I never really knew much about the second world war until I saw this movie. After I saw this movie, I became more interested in history. After watching this movie a couple of times, I became more familiar with the second world war and how bad it really was.
Its really graphic not something I would sit with a bowl of popcorn.

Memorable Quotes : Captain Miller: Sometimes I wonder if I've changed so much, my wife is even gonna recognize me whenever it is I get back to her, and how I'll ever be able to, tell about days like today. Ahh, Ryan. I don't know anything about Ryan, I don't care. The man means nothing to me; he's just a name. But if, you know, if going to Rem"al, and finding him so he can go home, if that earns me the right to get back to my wife, well then, then that's my mission.

Capt Miller Dies.. in Summary

Gen. George C. Marshall: My dear Mrs Ryan: It's with the most profound sense of joy that I write to inform you your son, Private James Ryan, is well and, at this very moment, on his way home from European battlefields. Reports from the front indicate James did his duty in combat with great courage and steadfast dedication, even after he was informed of the tragic loss your family has suffered in this great campaign to rid the world of tyranny and oppresion. I take great pleasure in joining the Secretary of War, the men and women of the U.S. Army, and the citizens of a grateful nation in wishing you good health and many years of happiness with James at your side. Nothing, not even the safe return of a beloved son, can compensate you, or the thousands of other American families, who have suffered great loss in this tragic war. I might share with you some words which have sustained me through long, dark nights of peril, loss, and heartache. And I quote: "I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the somlemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the alter of freedom." -Abraham Lincoln. Yours very sincerely and respectfully, George C. Marshall, General, Chief of Staff.

Getting Emotional with Ladder 49

Part of my nostalgic weekend form war movies I caught Ladder 49 again.

Firefighters have always been held in high regard. They run into burning buildings while everyone else is running out. They put their lives on the line to save others. It is a courage that most of us would like to think we have, but few of us are ever put into a position to test.

Chief Kennedy: People are always asking me how is it that firefighters run into a burning building when everyone else is running out. Courage is the answer.

......and duty in case you didn't know. Ladder 49 is about the brave men of Baltimore Firehouse number 49. The film explores their lives, their joys and their grief by way of a compelling glimpse into their families and the individual sacrifices that every firefighter must face when they charge out of the firehouse to save another building or another life at great personal risk and sometimes a great loss.

It a great drama different from your Backdraft...The story is told in a series of flashbacks after the now veteran firefighter Jack is trapped inside a raging inferno. The movie progresses as Jack finds acceptance by his fellow firefighters and enters into love and marriage with Linda (Jacinda Barrett). Thereafter, both Jack and Linda struggle and ultimately accept the negative and dangerous aspects of the job as the deaths and severe injuries take their toll on Jack and his fellow firefighters. The memories of his early life as a firefighter flood Jack's mind while he struggles to break through a wall to make his rescue easier.

This film seems to be authentically about real people doing real things in the closely-knit community of firefighters. In fact, I must admit to being somewhat envious of the intimate community they all seemed to share. A community where everyone was connected and concerned about one another, rather than the indifference seen in most of today's society. A person must have felt that he/she really belonged and mattered to the rest. A collective where you could rely on each other for emotional, financial, and any other assistance you needed.

Ron Howard (Happy Days) puts the audience in the middle of the fire on the screen so well that you cringe when a character is hurt and shed a few tears when one pays the ultimate price. (Yeah men do cry)

Chief Kennedy: It's never an easy thing, saying goodbye to a brother firefighter, it's not. And this time, particularly is difficult for me because I watched Jack grow into a, well, into one of the finest firefighters I've ever known. He joined this department because he wanted to help people, who knows how many homes are still standing because Jack was there or how many lives were spared. He gave his life for that cause. We'll never forget you Jack. And we're better for having known you. But I make you this one promise, tomorrow when that bell rings, we will be back on the truck, because you were the bravest of the brave. People are always asking me, how is it that firefighters run into a burning building when everyone else is running out? Well, Jack, you answered that question by saving another man's life. Your courage is the answer. And today we will be as brave as you, by not mourning you, but by celebrating your life. So I'd like everyone to stand up and celebrate the life of Jack Morrison.

Lets celebrate the lives

Shuttle Cock

Getting to the top and staying on top are 2 different things. This weke in badminton was about staying on top and boy was it tough.

While trying to work to improving your game, ther eis always a tendency to make mistake and such mistakes translate into the game running away from you, when you finally get a grip.... you and your partner are down 9-0, 7-2 or 12-2 then you claw back into the game.

I am the only indian there and yet they do not discriminate against me. A game is a game, Played my 1st RM1 game today and lost but won back later one.

My arsenal is my drop shot, it deadly to the extent the guy across the net exclaimed in frustration cursing. Jen was kind enough to translate and brought a smile to my face. My weakness is my back hands, i can still chop to the net, andcross court net...I can measure the shuttle to land near the net and it become predictable. A far cry from a point, I could never take a backhand at all.

My consistance in my game is also a sore point. I could have a run of 4 -5 points then rattle of a series of stupid mistakes. When I am on fire, I am flying. In some series of exchanges I know the space to push the shuttle to and make the guy rung around not to take it to the next level.

Time to go jogging!! Thoress where are you.... I dun mind you be my fitness coach lol

2 moon in the sky in August

No I am not drunk!!! hehehe

Mars

This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close isin 2287

The Red Planet is about to be spectacular!

This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as 60,000 years before it happens again.

The encounter will culminate in August.. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am.
It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

The encounter will culminate on August 27th whenMars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night skyMars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye

Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye.
Mars will be easy to spot. At the beginning of August it will rise in the east at 10p.m. and reach its azimuth at about 3 a.m. So, mark your calendar at the beginning of August to see Mars grow progressively brighter and brighter throughout the month.

The Single Child - All for one

Each time Jnr Vadai asks, "When will we be having another baby?" The answer is polite but the emotiions trouble inside. Too young to know the politics, the scarifices, the invidividual scars and ......(sigh), he is just a kid and a darling....

These days, it seems no sooner have you had one child when people start to wonder when you will be having the next one. But not all of us hanker after the model family of two kids. For many, one child is enough. It may be a question of financial necessity, medical difficulties, age, a traumatic experience the first time around or a straightforward matter of personal choice.

At the junctions where we stand after 5 years is a world of a difference before Jnr came into the pic.Even in this day and age when more and more people are choosing to be single child families, it seems there is still a stigma attached to this decision. Parents are often criticised for being selfish - saying that the child will be lonely or spoilt without siblings. And this is true for many families - while some really want to stay with one child, others have no choice because they started their family late or have medical complications.

Pros and cons of having just one child

Pros:

* More time to spend together
* Less expensive
* Potentially fewer family arguments
* There's no need for hand-me-down clothes and toys
* Only one pregnancy and birth!

Cons:

* No special sibling bonds
* May feel lonely at times, eg on holidays, rainy weekends etc
* It can be difficult to keep them amused as toddlers - brothers or sisters can help!
* An only child may be more spoiled than one with brother or sisters
* No companionship from siblings in later life

The Good & Bad of Casual Sex between Friends

Before I get whiplashed this is a general out look in the every evolving society, its acceptance and its beliefs... Today through my meeting of people in the real world and cyber world, I have come to notice, understand and to a certain extent comment on this scope of relationships. FB is a widely used terminology, In short they call it a FUCK BUDDY but in actuallity its called "Friends with Benefits"

There's a time-honored saying that goes something like this: "Friends are friends, pals are pals, and buddies sleep together." I think it is mainly poking fun at those who use the words describe friendships that are, shall we say, more than platonic. Like the term "FF" -- short for F*ck Friends -- also known as "friends with benefits."

FF are friends, or maybe only acquaintances, who have a spoken or an unspoken agreement to have sex occasionally, without ever pursuing a romantic relationship. As guys and ladies become increasingly free to indulge in physical relationships with relatively fewer consequences (yippie birth control!), sex is now more casual than ever. Its out there.

As a result, some friends decide to take it to the next level, just for fun, without all the trappings of an actual relationship. Being simply FF is definitely easier at first, but are the negatives that come with it worth the promise of casual sex?

"Check out these pros and cons and decide for yourself. from the NET

Sex with no strings
The most apparent positive point about being FF is the availability of easy sex, without all the pressures and limitations of a relationship. The beauty of this situation is its clarity -- if both sides are honest going into this, then both will know that it's solely about sex. She can never accuse you of using her, or vice-versa, because you've both acknowledged from the start that you're, in fact, using each other. Using each other in a good way, however, because removing all the emotional baggage from sex makes it much simpler and potentially more enjoyable.

Tip: Nonetheless, if you want to give the FF thing a shot, remember the importance of honesty from the get-go. If one of you is going into this secretly hoping for more, then the problem of dishonesty arises, and that person is probably in for a nasty disappointment when it doesn't play out that way. And trust me, nine times out of 10, FF never develop into anything more. It's much more likely that just the opposite will happen. FF tend to slowly drift out of each other's lives over time, or if they start seeing someone else seriously."

I know this is not an accepted norm and no one is asking you to accept them but dont be a horse with blinders. Today's world this is a norm like it or not. We see it on TV, Movies, and so many other avenues especially in real life.

Walk A Mile In My Shoes

Song says it all - vadai will survive

"Walk A Mile In My Shoes"

(As recorded by Joe South)
JOE SOUTH

If I could be you and you could be me for just one hour
If we could find a way to get inside each other's mind
If you could see me through your eyes instead of your ego
I believe you'd be surprised to see that you'd been blind.

Walk a mile in my shoes, walk a mile in my shoes
And before you abuse, criticize and accuse
Walk a mile in my shoes.

Now your whole world you see around you is just a reflection
And the law of common says you reap just what you sow
So unless you've lived a life of total perfection
You'd better be careful of every stone that you throw.

Walk a mile in my shoes, walk a mile in my shoes
And before you abuse, criticize and accuse
Walk a mile in my shoes.

And yet we spend the day throwing stones at one another
'Cause I don't think or wear my hair the same way you do
Well I may be common people but I'm your brother
And when you strike out and try to hurt me its a-hurtin' you.

Walk a mile in my shoes, walk a mile in my shoes
And before you abuse, criticize and accuse
Walk a mile in my shoes.

There are people on reservations and out in the ghettos
And brother there but for the grace of God go you and I
If I only had the wings of a little angel
Don't you know I'd fly to the top of the mountain, and then I'd cry.

Walk a mile in my shoes, walk a mile in my shoes
And before you abuse, criticize and accuse
Walk a mile in my shoes, shoes.

Dating Lingo

At the point of conversation someone asked me whats 1st base or if I reached 1st base ...duh!! here is a brief explanation

American girls had used baseball terminology. "First base" referred to embracing and kissing; "second base" referred to groping and fondling and deep, or "French," kissing, commonly known as "heavy petting"; "third base" referred to fellatio, usually known in polite conversation by the ambiguous term "oral sex"; and "home plate" meant conception-mode intercourse, known familiarly as "going all the way."

In the year 2000, in the era of hooking up, "first base" meant deep kissing ("tonsil hockey"), groping, and fondling; "second base" meant oral sex; "third base" meant going all the way; and "home plate" meant learning each other's names......I wonder in Malaysia what sport we can use to emulate the terminologies of the American Dating game Lingo...hmmm sepak takraw...galah panjang(anyone remember this?).....

Tables turned around

Before I get label a male chuvanist hahaha ya right!! This is a superb piece sent to me by Mr.Scud

Just a thought?

I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart.

FOR EXAMPLE

One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says "I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me."

I said "WHAT????!!! What was that?!"

So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear..."You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man."

She responded to my puzzled look by saying, "Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?"

Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep.

The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits.

She couldn't decide which one to take so I told her we'll just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said lets get a pair for each outfit. We went onto the jewellery department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings.

Let me tell you...she was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis.

I think I threw her for a loop when I said, "That's fine, honey." She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement.

Smiling with excited anticipation she finally said, "I think this is all dear, let's go to the cashier." I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, "No honey, I don't feel like it."

Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled "WHAT???!!!" I then said, "Really honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman." And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, "Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?"

Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either.

Thanks

Saturday With the Birthday Boy

Lazing around the hse the Birthday boy drag me for lunch at Avenue K nice place to have lunch and very economical. Finally lunch was at 2.30pm after he spent a good amout of out time there at Toy-R-Us.

Now Toy-R-Us are a big place but this fella stick to one section only...No prizes for guessing which section. TRANSFORMERS!!

What do I do while waiting past lunch, ronda-ronda the place twice then take pics of him at his happy land for my blog hahaha Hungry Ready mau makan....!!!

This is one man's love for Transformers and he is not alone

An got movie coming out somemore!!!! I only love Generation 1

Autobots vs Decepticons....Optimus Prime vs Megatron

Sat with the birthday boy and Toy-R-Us!!! Duh!!

Being the birthday boy does have its advantages. So the birthday boy picks me up for lunch to Avenue K. This is at bout 1pm but do we go and eat 1st noooooooo we go and see toys at Toys-R-Us

Why Transformers?

Well this kido that turned 30 went to check out the lot in Avenue K draggin my along to have lunch with him. Hey me a kid too coz I love Transformer. Autobots vs Decepticons and it ends there all the follow-up and other spin-off made me lose interest but not for my pal. He once showed up in my house for Tea putting on display his toy!!! Sigh

For the less incliend

Launched in 1984, the Transformers toyline was promoted through both a comic book by Marvel Comics and an animated series produced by Sunbow Productions.

It won me over alright. The minute the theme song played I would go running to watch, the battle between the Decepticons & Autobots lead by Megatron and Optimus Prime.

Later it evolved and lost the originality that I loved about it so much. But my buddy is a hard core fan. and rightfully he is bout each characted and the generation of transformers.

In this incarnation the planet Cybertron is running low on energy. The Heroic Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, set out in space to search for more energy but are attacked by the Evil Decepticons led by Megatron. Both races crash on Earth and lie in suspended animation for the next four million years. Awakened by a volcanic eruption, the computer on board, Teletraan I, begins repairing Decepticons and Autobots. The Decepticons set out to plunder Earth's energy resources in order to have the energy to conquer Cybertron. The Autobots seek to prevent this and so the battle is renewed on Earth, Cybertron and across space.

This is for me buddy - Stay Ori - I was sad to find Optimus Prime as a Dodge and Darthvadar as a Transformer. Sigh thats marketing for you

So a brief intro to the 2 key players

Transformers Universe Decepticon

Megatron

Allegiance: Decepticon

Function: Decepticon Leader

First Comic Appearance: Transformers #1

"Everything is fodder."

Profile: Love, compassion, mercy are words that have no meaning for Megatron. He has risen to the leadership of the Decepticons by a combination of brute strength, military cunning, ruthlessness, and terror. On Cybertron he was commanding general in charge of all military operations against the Autobots, who referred to him as "The Slag-Maker." It was a title of fear. A title of respect. A title Megatron relished. His banishment to Earth has only made him more bitter and more evil-minded, if that is possible. He aches to return to Cybertron and complete his mission of eradicating the Autobots. But while on Earth he is dedicated to eliminating those Autobots marooned here with him- and his plans go far beyond that. He realizes the Earth is one huge stockpile of metal and fuel resources and means to possess it all, with the aid of his fellow Decepticons. But his plans go even further, plans so grandiose even his fellow Decepticons are unaware: Megatron intends to enslave the entire human race. He allows no exceptions to his motto.

Abilities: Megatron is incredibly powerful and intelligent, the equal of Autobot Leader Optimus Prime. His fusion cannon can convert any small amount of matter into large quantities of explosive nuclear energy. The cannon can fire a blast up to 12 miles and release enough energy to flatten a small town. Megatron can use his internal circuitry to connect the cannon interdimensionally with a black hole, where it can draw on anti-matter as its power source. The blast from this is far greater, but it creates a tremendous strain on Megatron to do this for even one blast.

Weaknesses: Megatron has no known weaknesses.

Transformers Universe

Transformers Universe Autobot

Optimus Prime

Allegiance: Autobot

Function: Autobot Commander

First Comic Appearance: Transformers #1

"Freedom is the right of all sentient beings."

Profile: If he had been on Earth, he would be a doctor, a mechanic, a scientist and a warrior. But on Cybertron there is no difference between these professions. So Optimus uses his skills to heal and repair- which are the same things to Autobots- to improve the world around him and, if necessary, to fight. Both in power and intelligence, he has no equal. He has the personality of an Abraham Lincoln. He can be immensely kind and his compassion extends to all that lives, including the creatures of Earth. Yet he will battle unceasingly to protect the weak and defend what he believes in. To accomplish this, Optimus knows that the Decepticons must be defeated for all time.

Abilities: In robot mode. Optimus Prime actually splits into three components. The Optimus module is the robotic sentient being that is the storehouse of his vast knowledge and strength. He can lift 4,000,000 lbs. and a blow from his fist exerts a force of 12,000 lbs. per sq. inch. He carries a laser rifle and can burn a hole in the nosecone of a Decepticon jet fighter at a distance of 30 miles, aided by his outstanding visual acuity. His Prime module, also known as Roller, is a small cart-shaped device that he uses to unobtrusively slip behind enemy lines. He can maintain radio control over it at distances up to 1200 miles. Having Roller present somewhere is like being there himself. He can operate by remote-control his Combat Deck module up to a distance of 1500 feet. The Auto-Launcher mounted on the Deck can use a variety of artillery and radiation beam weapons, including most of those used by his fellow Autobots. The Launcher also includes a highly dexterous grapple-arm which allows it to load itself and change its weaponry. The communications disk antenna mounted on the launcher provides a link between Optimus and all his fellow Autobots within a radius of 50 miles. It can be adapted to a satellite hook-up that increases its effective range 10-fold.

Weaknesses: Although Optimus Prime can function as three independent modules, injury to any one ot the modules is felt by the other two. Roller is particularly vulnerable, especially in the behind-the-lines situations in which he specializes. However, the Optimus module is by far the most important component of the trio. Although he could survive without the other two, they could not survive without him. Otherwise, the only weakness he could be accused of having is being too compassionate and concerned about the safety of others. He would be a more effective military commander if he were more ruthless, but then he wouldn't be Optimus Prime.

The Guys' Rules

At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down Finally, the guys' side of the story. (I must admit, it's pretty good.) We always hear "the rules" From the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side. These are our rules! Please note...these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE!

1. Men ARE not mind readers.

1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. A headache that lasts for 17 months IS a problem. See a doctor.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 Days.

1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera guys.

1. If you think you're fat, you probably are.Don't ask us.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

1. You can either ask us to do something Or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.

1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will Be scratched. We do that.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," We will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, Expect an answer you don't want to hear.

1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear Is fine... Really.

1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, Or golf.

1. You have enough clothes.

1. You have too many shoes.

1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!

1. Thank you for reading this.

Pass this to as many men as you can, to give them a laugh.

My best badminton performance

I have always believed in doing my best and an improved performance in my activities week in and week out.

Its been 6 months of almost weekly foray into the badminton courts, I was invited by Jen to join his group of badminton...being a little sceptical as I had not held a racquet for over many years, also it was a good way for me to get back on my feet and my fitness.

Once a week seem quite good for me so I went to be a racquet at Care4 at 50 ringgit only, coz I am not gonna waste my time investing on a 200$ racquest without being able to last. RM 40 investment on a power shoe and there I was week after week. Sometime missing it due to work or trips. My main goal was to improve.

Last night was my best performance on the court, so much so I knew I was flying, it was not a perfect game but I could control my shuttle, my drives my lobs and I was all over the court. The uncles who play at the court praised my game and Jen also said I am the most improved.

I am happy at that but still I wont let it go to my head, week after week I want to improve my technique, my game, my match fitness. My backhand which was always my weakest part of the game surprisingly, I over came it but not trying to force the shuttle to their offensive but use my strength in cross court drop and shorter strokes catching them off guard. I played with different partners and even I was like ok time to give someone else a chance to play, they asked my to join them for the next set. I was so elated.

This would be a benchmark performance which not I have to over come week after week. I SMS Jen that night to thank him and how hapi I was that bugger wanted 5 bachelor nite as repayment hahaha Up urs Jen

After the best session of badminton, I earned a session of chilly frog legs as a reward for me efforts on the court.

Patting my own back....well done vadai.... now for bedminton hahaha

The good old KL REX

Reading her blog on Rex theater gave me an idea for mine and I decided to write me memoried of that theater.

I look back and reflect her article on the good old days when Rex KL used to be THE place to watch the latest movies. It was him happening and what more its near Petaling Street.
It be placed we take out gfren to , dates, night out and stuff....

Today the in thing is cosyness comfort and places like this of slowly dies a natural death.

Facts:
- After more than 25 years in operation, GSC Rex KL closed its doors for the last time on November 15, 2002.
- The original Rex Theatre burned down in the early 1970s.
- A new single screen, 1100-seat theater was erected in its place in 1976.
- The newer Rex's auditorium is not only larger, but it contains a balcony.
- The Rex became the first cinema in Malaysia to have a DTS sound system in 1993 in conjunction with the opening of Jurassic Park.
- The front foyer was revamped in 1995 and computerized ticketing was installed.

I will aways miss Rex for sentimental reasons it a place I hanged out, a place where the que would go around the block on the 39th day to buy ticket for Jurassic Park(DTS)....many would probably not get an experience of sitting in a 1000 seat theater

hmmmmm life passing moment

For most of us, it is the cinema we grew up with. But for the younger generation, it is sad that they will probably never get to experience watching a movie on a giant screen, just like the ones in these old cinemas.
