We just dont fucking learn....

My condolences to all family members of victims. As if on cue all the politicians start singing the same old tune. I was at Highland Towers, I saw the carnage it left an impact... People just dont learn... they use political influences, money and do this crap.

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi yesterday lamented that “Malaysians never want to learnt from past experiences” – “They want good views while developers only seek to profit; but no one takes safety and soil stability into consideration”.

To Quote Lim Kit Siang

Conspicuously absent from Abdullah’s blame list are the various government agencies and authorities who should be even more culpable in giving approvals or closing an eye to dangerous hillside developments and in totally ignoring the lessons of the Highland Towers tragedy 15 years ago.

To Quote Dr Benjamin George
“The politicians will climb up their helicopters and say all development must stop.
“There will be a stop-work order for two months but in the third month the tractors will start work again.

“I have survived long enough to see all this nonsense repeated,” he said, adding that landslides would happen every few years.

When asked how he felt about the latest tragedy, Dr George – the Highland Towers owners and residents committee chairman who had to abandon his home at Block B of the Highland Towers – said he was sad, angry and disappointed.

“Imagine if it were your father, mother or child in there,” he said.

Gotta brace ourselves to more of this kinda tradegies. But can we always just blame the developers? What about the buyers? Aren't they encouraging the process, the development, the killing of hills and eventually of self?

The circle is complete..
