Reds Oust Arsenal In Anfield Thriller

Liverpool advance yet again to a Champions League semi-final with Chelsea, but the future will have to wait. This match leaves everyone who gawped at the wonder of it in the grip of their memories. Recriminations, too, ought to be put on hold although Arsenal, easing ahead on the away goals rule after tying the score here at 2-2 in the 84th minute, will be aghast over a loss inflicted primarily by Steven Gerrard's penalty moments later.

A penalty kick from Steven Gerrard and a Ryan Babel strike in the last five minutes at Anfield yesterday helped Liverpool complete a 5-3 victory over the two-match quarterfinal, after Emmanuel Adebayor's goal had put Arsenal in control.

``Arsenal are a fantastic team and at times they passed us off the pitch,'' Gerrard told ITV. ``In the end we've come through. It was a great team performance.''
