Juinor Growing up - washing shoes time




As children grow up we slowly got to make them take responsibility and make them do tasks... setting up a time table and and delegating task such as helping out with the garbage, laundry, lots of other simple chores. Its never easy because they are kids. Some situations are difficult some are easy. Children want to be independent and Jnr Vadai is no different

So Last Sat Junior started washing his own shoes for school... I must say he did a good job and slowly put into practice this to be done weekly. Slowly in away he will realize how people around him are doing things for him and the value it bring. Thank god its no a struggle just a manner of presentation of the chore to make it fun for him

Flatline anyone?

Back in the hey days of IRC, people of all kinds of characters and shapes and sizes used to walk in and out after a while, the need to identify one self with an ID that that ID stuck with you when ever your are online. Soon that became synonymous with you when your cyber friends became real friends. Before darthvadai I was defcon and in certain IRC channels we were regulars meeting up people form IRC was norm, not like in suych meeting we wear name tags with our ID name but it was nice to put a face to an ID.

As I said in my opening line you make good friends and bad friends some move on some move forward, just like everyone of us life does go on. Having said that I have made a lot of friends and enemies (hey no one is perfect) form my online friedns. Some of my best friends are frens I have met and got to know via the internet. So after bout 4-5 years to bump into an internet 'fren' is amazing

Last nice after my social hockey club meeting, we went to SID's, my first time there but it was a simple place at Bangsar South. I got to thank Faren and Roy for showing me the place and the 5 of us with 2 others had an interesting broad range of conversations relating from social hockey, marriage to marketing and BPL etc etc

The I went to the gents.. I saw a familiar figure, I was thinking to myself ? could it be? nah!!! the other person did not recornise me and I went back to my group.

Later on the night I butmped into the person again and I prompted the question...Hiya are you so and so from a certain IRC channel??

YESSSSSSSS

Facebook

Yeah yeah I have facebook and in one of the most amazing thing I have come across across facebook is the unexplainable ability of network efficiency and the craziest way to bump into people


I have met school mates of mine I have not met in over 20 years Thiaga and Jothes, friends of friends and relatives and far distant relatives.

Today I was elated to meet an old friend from the Taman Gembira days, Jackie. How? Well here I was again commenting on Gerrard's page and suddenly the name came up and an unmistakable surname. Lobehold after a flurry of msgs we added each other.

I am like WOW amazing

Time flies but memories remain, and there are worthwhile memories

From the NST

Meanwhile, there were few changes when the Selangor HA held its Biennial General Meeting yesterday.

Datuk Salamon Selamat was returned as president, while the new deputy president is Datuk Subahan Kamal. There were two new veeps in P. Kuganesan and Abdul Rahim Ahmad, while Kerpal Singh and Taram Singh were retained. Zainal Abidin Ismail was retained as secretary. Surjit Singh was the new Independent member

SHA & me


For the record, I was elected as a Vice President of Selangor Hockey Association today.

A letter I wrote to a fellow blogger

Dear Sir,

I did not write to you at this juncture to ask to cover SHA but merely engage in a dialogue on how we can administratively, productively over come camps cliques and try to steer the council forward progressively

I was thinking with you vast experience in looking at other organization, state, club and at country level maybe you could share guidance and idea in an interesting chat. Engage peopel like your self and other sports people on current issues facing the sports freternity today.

I have been a long admirer of your blog and the basis in which you write it. I am not here to criticize or cause hurt. I have been in hockey all my life as a player, umpire and administrator both at club, state and national level, I am excellent at what I do, I know the paperwork, I know the administrative and the scope of work and always learning new areas each time,

But today I was brought in to the other sided of the coin as an elected official sat a higher level. While the fundamentals are the same the challenges are different.

There is so much wrong in the manner we look at thing, the manner we carryout activities that I am not sure where to start, I agree this task is not all mine to burden but there is a weight responsibility, maybe I can call it conscious that everything not done seem to be important enough to be done.

There is the constitution that need to be "upgraded" to current times

There is the competitions committee that need to start running a league that had been dormant for 3-4 years

There is the finance committee that need to bring in fund and weather thru this current economic conditions

There is the development committee that should not limit it self to developing players but infrastructure that is decaying, not well maintained and being closed down

SHA - again


Once every two years we go thru this real life drama of elections... todays article in the NST is no different.. once again SHA is having their elections and both sides have approached me to come in and help out... still not made up my mind...

I have thru time been in many positions in hockey at school, district, club, state, national and international level watching this would be nothign new... all this horse trading only happen weeks before the AGM till then it be all quiet and nodding heads.

Also I saw something unique

And what a strange scene this one has created.

In a new image from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, high-energy X-rays emanating from the nebula around PSR B1509-58 have been colored blue to reveal a structure resembling a hand reaching for some eternal red cosmic light.


Red represents low-energy X-rays, the medium range is green, and the most energetic ones are colored blue. The blue hand-like structure was created by energy emanating from the nebula around they dying star PSR B1509-58. The red areas are from a neighboring gas cloud called RCW 89.
