Benitez’s men came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory at Anfield this afternoon, giving them an early psychological blow in the title race.
The win was secured despite Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres being too unfit to start the game and Benitez was particularly pleased with how deep his side were prepared to dig to earn a crucial three points.
