Has anyone got a theory for why so many visitors to blogs feel the urge to tell you all the ways in which you are wrong, dumb, suck etc, but don't feel enough conviction to have their name associated with their opinions?
It seems strange to me that someone would want to give another the benefit of their wisdom but not take credit for it. If I was the creator of such enlightened and pithy commentary as "you suck, leave the 'sphere asswad" I am sure I would not only want full credit but to have it registered in case of plagiarism.
Of course not all comments are as intelligently crafted as that example. Some even are posted in quite agreeable language with only a minimum of cussing. Even so many people do not want to use their own names. It's almost like they want you to know how they feel but do not really care for your reply.
I can understand someone posting anonymously if there is a chance their comments could get them into some sort of trouble, but otherwise ...
I switch off the option for these comments in my blog for a while coz it was getting irritation, so here is a challenge as I will open it up again and so long as they have the courage to put in their name or not cuss and degrade the person or use other peoples blog and comment on them.
Lets see how it goes

Why have an id 'darthvadai' when it can be Nesan Singam or fullname spealt out? Whats the rational of having id's and blogs with different name? Why when chatting one do not use their real full name when there is an option?Dont you want to take credit on your name for all the good wisdom/contribution?

Well... I use a pen name on my blog - so I guess that's kind of annonymous! hahaaha
I wont speak for the rest but as for the ID this is mine. I was Defcon before till it got hacked and now I am Darthvadai this is who I am. At least people know who Darthvadai is.
One of the things I find amusing is the amount of regular readers who comment anonymously who don't seem to realise that their comments leave an IP address (and therefore identify themselves to the blogger).
Anyway my blod of my opinin this out at people who choose not to comment but attack and do not have the guts to leave a name or and ID.
Must be a zillion ID in the market
My non official communication chats, emails and id all carry Darthvadai.
Why have an id?
If you have something to say, but aren't willing to put your name or an ID, then you shouldn't say it. Period.
Get some balls, anonymous people, and stand up for what you say!
would an 'anonymous' creating zillion 'pen name'(as you say it)make any different to using 'anonymous'
in that case the 'pen name' becomes an 'id'- would you not say

Well lets just say the people in GOOGLE must be out of their mind and unrational to have the option.
and all the people commenting WITHOUT THEIR REAL NAME AND PEN NAME insisting that 'anonymous' should not be used DESPITE GOOGLE GIVING THE OPTION should take over GOOGLE and the world with their Superman cape.
I am sure you all have balls to use your realname when registering on a chat/pickup sides and you are all so open and transparent you can all comment on leaving a name.

I don't mind Darthvadai using this nick and not his name. After all this is a nick name. He need not put his real name as his real pictures are here. He has nothing to hide.
We always have to respect people's privacy. So what if he is not using his real name, that does not give us the right to publish his real name here.

thanks Cathy for teaching the unwise - so all this means one can use an id /nick/pen name...anything they choose to call themselves but NOT using 'anonymous'- correct
and a blogger should not use their real name to 'protect their privacy' BUT instead the one who comment can not use 'anonymous' and have no right protect thier privacy.

Unwise - you pick a wrong forum to attack, a big difference compared to commenting. Up to you to say what u want in ur forum dun jump on my band wagon. Put a name to yours b4 you decide to comment. If you really do what you advocate

this is your tannisami and i think bloggers r a bunch of fags & fairies(weaklings in short) and use blogging as an alternative to theraphy or to propogate.also, some just wanna record their daily live and make sure no one forgets them when they r gone. go do some real good in the real world instead of bitchin and whinin in here.i will stand up and applaud the whole bunch of u when u all actively partipate in bettering lives of people less unfortunate than u 'poor souls' who sit by your 2000 bucks pc and whine about how bad things are for u or what injustice you hv witnessed.my real frens(i hv a few onli, hope they stick around) will appreciate wat i've said but the rest of u self righteous clowns will retort to wat i've penned in a manner like the freedom of the world depended on it.so let the guy blog if he wants to and let him say wat he wants minus your intellectual insights or grammatical/spelling corrections or food for thought watnot.in short...life is short,enjoy it.
