Day after day we slog, we pour over work, some work thru lunch, we give up the small insignificant things for the sake of work in the slight hope we become better worker, we make sacrifices in frens and family and wat not for work, pulling long hours, driving ourselves harder, to achieve the objectives. We want better pay, less hours but in reality the more we earn the more work we have, we walk around withe PDA's Mobile phones what act as part of our arm and we are lost without such devices. We have work related initiatives to achieve and we run while we supposed to walk.

We forget to stop and walk and smell the roses. We see other in this train but at time we do not see ourselves. We ride the so called wave not realizing someday some point in time this wave will reach the beach and it ends.

Today it was magnificent, I had lovely Nasi Lemak, checked into work, had a 45 minute dialogs with Jnr Vadai debating bout everything significant and insignificant. In the noon I checkout of the office for an appointment, after that was a nice time to sit back relax and smell the roses. Doctors advise lol

I feel good - Badminton

With all the hassle, travelling, paperwork, red tape, idiots, slow coach and act of god incident I have faced since Monday, I am glad for a few things this Wednesday,

I am glad Jen waited for me for a time more then expected due to unexpected traffic and further delays ( though he did get some business) hahaha, if he did not pick me I would have gone home since the car was out action.

So out of office trips here and there, traffic snarls, over turned somethings resulted in Jen shuttling me direct to Badminton!!

It was a fucking awesome workout 5 sets winning 3 losing 2. The best in my reckoning was me and uncle versus the great wall of china - patrick and loh.

It was actually a betting game which I decline, but they spoke in Chinese and Uncle took on the bet, we had 5 point to start with. Let me put it this way we are the lowest raking taking on one of the top ranked team.

Leading on to 7-0, I managed to catch a few words then I actually understood that if we had lost Uncle would have paid for me as well. Then it was game on. Taking the lead at one point to 12-0 we were playing for out lives, Kodak moment ball lifted slightly to the side over the net I pounced jumped the whole world seem to pause ala Matrix as I glanced and delivered a backhand smash. Yippi-Ka-Yeah.

The big boys were rattled and they fought back, tiredness, fatigue and losing concentration and the fact they are that good as they cut down the lead to 12-9, the service change hands a couple of times till it was 13-10, we fought on, uncle famous words "Never say die!!"

and we never dies as I served and lead on to win 15-10. WOW WOW let out a blood curling cry, body drenched, legs wobbly, mind ecstatics high 5 Jen on the way out of the court. Made me smile to see them pay uncle the money, even it is one buck each, we beat them. An old uncle and a raw kiddo beat them

Feels good. To savour the moment, to feel the victory.

In most of the sets the game plan is to attack me if I am at the back as my backhand is not strong and my ability to send the shuttle to the base line is not good enough, so my focus was turned to driving the shuttle as far back as I could when ever I am pinned back. It worked most of the time. I need to build my strength back in my arm and upperbody.

When Jen partnered me it not that I did not go back but I move forward when Jen was covering the back, I like partnering Jen as he is in tune with me style of game and give me hints and pointers to improve.

For the record I am the only indian on that count and have never felt out of place, i do not fault them if the basis language is english, but they smile and not and a simple hi and hello to greet. Makes you feel welcome. People like uncle and ricky often give pointer and encouragement as they watch you play.

The basis of the set you play no matter betting or friendship is that you will make mistakes, you will have a partner to encourage you, you work as a team and you give it 100%, you try for every shuttle, you push to the max you can. When you achieve this no one will fault you.

Badminton

Playing 5 sets after 4 moths does take its toll on you but that part and parcel of getting fit. This is where I play. Since Jan where Jen brought me here I been playing and I will be continuing to play. The 5 sets we have was a good workout, playing against Loh, Thoress, Jen, Utar (a kid with a chip on the shoulder), its fun and learning experiences.

What I gained from all the muscle aches and stuff was a nice Mango from Pakistan hahaha

At what point did you choose the colour of your eyes?

Was it in the womb? Did you hear a voice, or was it a feeling? Where colours put before you and even though you didnt know their names you selected one and that was the colour of your eyes? Or was it when you came out of the womb? Did the colour of your eyes turn the same colour of the first thing that you looked at?

Of course they fucking didnt. You didnt choose the colour of your eyes, it, well, just happened.

At what point did you choose to fancy the opposite sex? I will not write out a ridiculous set of possibilities again. The point is you didnt. You did not make a decision to fancy the opposite sex, to get turned on by them, to want to jump into bed with any hot individual of the opposite sex that your eyes fell upon. That didnt happen, it wasn’t a choice.

Homosexuaity and bisexuality is exactly the same deal. I never woke up one day and thought, hell, you know what I am going to make my life incredibly painful and difficult and have a passion for both men and women.

And painful it is. The other morning I woke up screaming out to a ‘God’. I asked him why.

Sometimes I just want to be normal. I want to know what it is like to find a woman attractive, to be with her, to be her man, to give her children and to share my world with her. I want to know what this feels like. I don’t. I doubt that I ever will.

We gathered and checkout a new place - Aloha, ya la new place for us since it beeen around about over a year or something like that, 2 Juggs of coke and beer kind of summed it up to the ppl there, makcik, brian, vadai, jason, aj, lacy and her victoria and cardigans, semut, splat kind of made the group, it was fun. There was an accidental beer spilling incident on Brian which I had to apologise profusely.


This club is impressive a 30,000 square foot mega-club has 3½ levels consist of a dance club, bistro & restaurant and an exclusive VIP Lounge. The stage reminds me of Captain Cabin and the place was wat Beach club used to be before it became a fuck joint.

Good sound, good music, packed and fun.

Appreciation Dinner

It was nostalgic to meet people from yester years such was a gathering in Royal Selangor Club who had stepped down A Tan Sri was being feated and I was in attendence.

It was nice to se the new and old faces as many stepped up to shake my hands. It was also nice to see people who felt guilty actually walk up to you and talk like nothing happened. My DSP fren turned to me and said they must be feeling really guilty lol.

True, from the previous blog on why i walked away and until now I have not had any remorse standing there. I was a man who walked away and stood tall admist all the politics and dirty linen being washed. Sitting in that dinner, I was proud of where I stood now. There even calls for me to come back to the fold promising this and that, alas, its too late and its time to move on. Its time to say your good byes and move on.

There were many pats on my back and well wishes the most significant was a Tan Sri with his arms around me saying to the on looking crowd, here is a guy who had the courage to make change and the courage to walk away. Made me smile lol

Time Flies

The week resulted in me stepping into the courts after a lapse of 4 months mostly to injury and to the later end work commitments. ( more on that later) Even Hockey will began this weekend.

My search for funds to take over the car has fruited with my meeting with an old friend wed night. The collateral was my trusted nissan sunny and I think I can work it out. Friday was a day for signing and trying loose end, Met J for a movie and that helped to ease my mind. J is a nice guy who will stick with you thru thick and thin... we watched Die Hard 4.0, more on that later.

Work, car, travelling, family had taken its toll on my body, my BP is also not good, I can imagine the all this will tie up to the lack of my exercise.

Makcik is down unfortunately I was unable to meet her for nasi kerabu with the gang , but I met her up later.

Will mater her later today after the wedding with J and the gang despite the fact devil, pick, plunkie who have all moved on the old gang and some new ones are still there. I expect that Commie will not be making it also but I understand his reasons. The rest all have moved on or many be it is us that have moved on

WEDNESDAY:

Notice: SK Shah has informed us that he has received several annoying telephone calls because of the error we made in the Classified ad yesterday.

The ad stands correct as follows: "For sale - SK Shah has a sewing machine for sale. Cheap. Phone 2555-0707 after 7PM and ask for Mrs. Rani who loves with him."


THURSDAY:

Notice: I, SK Shah, have no sewing machine for sale. I smashed it. Don't call 2555-0707 as I have had the phone disconnected. I have not been carrying on with Mrs. Rani. Until yesterday, she was my housekeeper but she quit.

Reunion of the Forum boys

Somethings unplanned, somethings unknown, somethings spontaneous sometimes are a delight the way they turn out. What lead form a double appointment, one at Wisma Selangor Dredging for as head hunters interview and another with MES rep at Bisik let to a rendezvous with one forum buddy at Crossroad, while listening to Mark play.....

Having seen another buddy juz out with an appendix operation (big hugs) T was a delight to see. We caught up on lost time and bullshit that we would post at the forum some real and some not but never the less it was great to see him.

He piggyback with my to go to Bisik where I met up with E from MES (more on him later and reggea bar) After negeo busines with E and securing some compromises we proceeded for drinks in Bisik on E of course, (he and his big mouth) ended with a bomb. J joined us form Concorde and T was around flirting as usual. Lo behold M from the forum who just arrived from Singapore that very night showed up.

M and I go back along way and the last I met him was at my birthday function. prior t0 that god know how long.... this was truly turning out ot be a guys night out and it was only 10pm hahaha we partied thru the night reminiscing the Singapore days and the forum stories and bullshit, we hopped a ride to Jln Bukit Bintang M being flashy as he is opened up a bill that raked into the 1k region madness!! Truly a guys night out!!!

Anyway I headed off early having to work the next day as the boys partied to the wee hours of the morning. Truly a lovely sight to see both of them

Ground Rules & Boundries & Sinus

This has been a very very very challenging weekend, firstly say hello to my sinus, Its Back!!!

Friday was designated kidnap night, after a few long conversations with Jnr Vadai and after all explaining adult rules to children it is never an easy task, he relented and allowed my self to be kidnapped lol. Unfortunately the kidnapped became the kid-nappper and driving in circles to find a food joint turned out to be more memorable then the food it self lol

Saturday morning was the start of spring cleaning weekend, I had to ditch Jnr Vadai coz of all the dust that would come up not thinking that I would be subjected to the same (duh!!)

Picked up 2 wall fans and 1 ceiling fan, 2 cupboards and as much as my budget would allow since my check had not cleared. Got online and settled all my Maybank2u transfers and payments and got set to work.

When you do wiring work it has to be clear you read the instructions properly and you dun have a nosey 6 year old running around anywhere.

It took a whole day to set the house up and re draw the boundaries, after conning Jnr to sleep I set out to relocate all the unnecessary stuff located over the house, and futher more with no one being around ( all away for the weekend) made my task simpler. In the end all personal stuff was re designated into the individual personal rooms, all my stuff into my place making a nice proper place (eventually) with limited to their own space. hahahaha

Feel good to be the land lord at time putting people in their places.

Sunday started in the similar fashion with small hands pitching in by 1pm we were up and running. Awesome. Task done, Boundries drawn, no entry sign posted lol not wait for the humans to react

I just got to see the movie on the THX screen with three hundred and ninety nine others something like that and all i can say is when the credits started to roll the whole crowd including me applauded and cheered.. was just BRILLIANT, it keeps things moving at a blistering pace, slowly revealing the auto bots and decepticons peace by piece ensuring each set piece out does the last.

Wishing I owned the toys and having watched the series from childhood I had misgivings when I first heard about this movie. Having constant chat with Jen bout the movie the figurines all lead to this moment. Seeing some of the heroes of my youth really move and fight, thanks to the visual effects of today, was literally a dream come true. Watching the transformers logo in the sky, the OP transforming for the 1st time MAGIC!!!!

I wanted to stay in my seat and tell them to run the damn movie again! Autobots!! rollout!!!

The movie is also very human, a very nice synergy between the CGI and human, again watching Optimus transform for the 1st time gave me goose bumps,, watching Ironhide coming to form was awesome. Overall despite the fact the Decepticons lost their personality, they're just mainly destroying n killing machines, Megatron and Starscream are more complex characters like they're featured in the movie maybe next sequeal

It's hard for me to walk up them steps now, its 'cuz I walked up 'em every night to lay next to a man who loved me.
