I am perplexed

I am prepelxed, at times confused and at others a little irritated by this thing we call comminucation between friends

Eg 1 when someone does not sms or call you in a while and you reach by phone or sms and say hmmm "Hey how you doing not heward from you in a while bla bla bla ..." and you get a reply.. "Well I wanted to see how long before you would get in touch with me" and I am like WTF???
Comment : you seriously got issues!!

Eg 2 a pal facing a prob so you ask if everything is ok and you get a reply yeah I am ok... aparently that is a lingo to say " no no no I am facing the mother of all problems and I am waiting for you to ask me properly, or ask me a few times before I can tell you about it" and I am like WTF???

Comment : you seriously got issues!!

A spark born 11 years ago

It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes us fathers and sons. ~Johann Schiller

Life sometimes can be like a chinese serial or a tamil drama especially when you have a young kid that elders say was as notty as you were as a kid. Being with a kid it has its fair share of twists and turns for fathers. Growing up with Junior Vadai, we have lived thru political & economical turmoils family splits and wars, 9/11 and much move but life does go on, each day each month each year is a new page to write on. Sometimes you visit the same pages again. having a son can be one of the greatest joys they will ever experience but also one of the greatest challenges between balancing the need to give freedom your son while placing appropriate boundaries.

Boy he has a temper.... but it at time justified, there are so many negative influences out there and you can never completely shield from him, in the end, you try within reason to teach him... and trust me that is not easy task.

Watching him grow up year after year, looking back at pictures and video clips, talking about him with close friends is magical, amidst the trying and difficult times, between wanting to provide everything and can only provide somethings, not to mention the curve-balls that lives throws you in the end it is and will always be about him.

I love my nephews and nieces too, I love kids-- Bringing a child up, bringing a son up is an ADVENTURE - Being a parent gives you an insight into a developing mind, it never ceases to amaze me how almost overnight they can learn new skills, tricks and watching them do something for the first time never ceases to amaze me.

Another year go so fast

Movie Cast Away - Ending - Life ever thrown you a curve ball?

I often think about Life ever thrown you a curve ball? Something happens that you would never have expected. Especialy with my kid around I tend to spend think of eventualities and probabilities. I look at the lives around me and try and learn from them

I do know what I want to do in my future, when my kids grows a little older but there is always that curve ball. It may very well be that it is not the curve ball itself that surprises us, but it is the disappointment from our expectations not being fulfilled. Is our expectations too high or they were placed on the wrong people

I love the details when Hanks comes back, like getting ice again, and I was always really affected by his simple realization about life’s setbacks, “The sun always rises, and you never know what the tide will bring in.” Maybe it was how good Hanks was in that scene, but I always loved that simple line.

Which bring me to the Movie Cast Away with Tom Hanks, I love the ending for Castaway no matter how many I see the movie - In then end Tom was driving up to deliver the one package he did not open on the island to that woman's house who later drove up in the pickup.

I love that Hanks is at a literal crossroads, that he feels the wind and revels in the knowledge that he has complete freedom of choice, nothing holding him down. The music swoons and we move in on him, and he looks past the camera, maybe to Mexico, maybe after the pretty girl in the truck with the ‘wings’ symbol, maybe he’s looking at nothing at all. And then it fades out.

The ending means sometimes people reach a crossroads in their lives where they don't know which way to go. Life is often ambiguous and sometimes options are ones that leave you with more questions than answers.

In response to Rizal Hashim - hoki kena ikut bola

http://rizalhashim.blogspot.com/2011/10/hoki-kena-ikut-bola.html

In my honest opinion it boils down to 4 factors - money, structure, popularity, enforcement

Fact is hockey does not have the maturity, depth, and ground structure that football offers to the community neither does it pull in the $$$$ as compared to football

Management of competitions, development and training have NEVER been properly attended to nor enforced as they do not have long term planning or the conviction. There is no structured calendar and it is always a yo-yo decision making year after year. There are facts

money
almost all states are reliant to government or development funding, the ability to raise fund and build on their own if difficult, all state hockey association do not have ground they own to manage or any form of revenue generation form naming right to jersey sponsorship

structure (competitions)
because the sport of hockey at national level is played seasonally for a period of 2 or 3 months there is no continued competiton for players. You have the national league for a period of 5-12 weeks and thats about it, the rest of the year the clubs who tie these players for a contract over a year do not have much to do.

State competitions too are minimal and short, this is both due to cost of taking partner in long terms competition versus national team calendar.

Note : Our national team is one of the most traveled and has the longest training camp compared to any of the top 10 playing nations in the world

Most states do not have league or even proper playing venue, those that do are at the mercy of the state to pay rental fees etc etc, when it come to maintenance or replacing the turf the states rather let it become a white elephant case in point Selangor having 2 turf and both not playable...and they organize their league games in KL!!!

Getting a SOP out for tournament rules, disciplinary action, stadium requirements are there but not enforced. Selangor Hockey Association introduced a code of conduct for all players and officially to sign for any tournament organized, match official are also trained in game situation, methodology of writing reports and review of match sheets but this is not emulated at national competition and national level.

So when it comes to disciplinary action ther eis always going to be a grey line of application.

We do not have SOP on club transfers, so what club do is tied down players to year long contracts, there is no transfer fees coz the rules do not apply when it comes to player eligibility and not economically viable

In review of the MHL, the amount of money spent on the team for a 2 month competition is far more bigger then the prize money, granted we have airtime on ASTRO but you got to go out there and market the league, sell it as a package, tie up corporations to club 2+1 contracts, we are not doing that. Any medium sized corporation given the air time the league team gets on ASTRO would be able to sell its position on a jersey or team name.

There is also an ambiguity of sponsorship, TNB give MHF the money but all the money is channeled to the league, one party claims they are already giving money to the national body, should that not be filtered down to the states, another party says the money is only for the league and shockingly this is a 7 figure sum.

If MHF are serious about marketing the league then they should bring into consideration license of players, while it may be cumbersome on the initial application over the long term the requirement for a players license will help regulate the add on effects of players transfer, ownership. the overall goal is to raise the standards of the league.

I do not blame if one club dominates the league as they have the financial muscle for it, but I am against the notion that they need to be curtailed. Hockey in Malaysia has more then just 20 great payers, its a matter for getting them, training them and developing then, the onus for this like with the clubs and states.

We do not have a structured calendar compared to football which is very seasonal our calendar depends on the result. For example in 2010 if we do not qualify for the Olympics then calendar changes, if we qualify national hockey competitions is put on hold.

Without national players in the league it is very hard to attract sponsors, raise the standards of the league and increase viewership.

My two cents

Time and time again we do not have the conviction to make brave decisions for the good of the game...if at all times its gonna be a popularity contest whats the point.

Time and time again we become the laughing stock of other nations because of our compromises, inability to make a stand.

1. For MHC there are no states that are affiliates of MHC only reps from MWHA & MHF.

2. States cannot be affiliates of MHC & MHF - dont make sense dual membership. Name the state that hold dual membership??

3. Be brave
a) Invite as per the constitution the reps from MHF & MWHA to the EOGM - they are the one with the power to change the constitution

b) Invite the states as OBSERVERS for the EOGM as they are not members

c) Full membership for states that have merged the men's and womens like KL, Penang and a few others entitled 1 vote

d) Provisional membership for states that have separate bodies for men or women. For a term of one year - this forces them to merge or else they dont get voting rights coz at present state that have merger get 1 vote, states not merged dun have any votes.

e) Reduce the number of VP. go back to the basics 1 President 2 Deputy President (1 guy 1 lady if you really want) 3-4 VP dats it then ur sec-gen Treas-gen and states are council members.

4. Make a stand
States struck off bar them... yes it kill hockey at lower levels but its the law, go down tothe ground, meet reps there work with them ot revive the body

well dats my two cents

Wat the heck are you trying to do?

Did someone shift the goalpost when were not looking??

In today news NST Hockey: MHC prepares to take over - spoke about the merger of the men's and women's hockey association in line with the international governing body (FIH) December deadline.

Fine and dandy, then came the shocker where only 10 affiliates from each body were invited. So there is an uproar from the remaining 6 on the men's side and god knows how many more on the affiliates on the women side.

Here is what I cant figure out so can someone explain to me like I am a 6 year old? Cos this is what I dont understand

1. MHF http://www.malaysiahockey.com.my/- 16 affiliates,
2. MWHA http://mhc-mwha.org - 9 affiliates
Pulau Pinang, Perak, Selangor, N. Sembilan, Kuala Lumpur, Pahang, Terengganu, Sarawak & PDRM

MHC was formed on July 16th
On Jul 17, 2005 in the NST - MHC the solution - by Jugjet Singh
THE Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) was born yesterday, and will be operational once the Sports Commissioner's office endorses it. The Malaysian Hockey Federation (MHF) and the Malaysian Women's Hockey Association (MWHA) met yesterday, and agreed that the best compromise to satisfy the International Hockey Federation (FIH) was to have MHC as the umbrella body. The MHC will be responsible for organising international tournaments, but the local leagues and other development programmes will still be run separately by the MHF and the MWHA.
MHF president Raja Nazin Shah said they had three options on how to satisfy the FIH, and the MHC was accepted by all. "The first proposal was to merge the MHF and the MWHA and the body would be called the MHF, and the second proposal was to have a body called the MHF with Malaysian Hockey Association and the MWHA as members.

"But the third proposal, which was to have the MHC with the MHF and MWHA as members was the most popular," said Raja Nazrin. The MHC will have no more than 10 elected office bearers each from the MHF and the MWHA. The proposal will be sent to the Sports Commissioner's office tomorrow.

The MHC will have a president, a deputy president, four vice-presidents, four council members, one secretary, one assistant secretary, one treasurer, one assistant treasurer and not exceeding four independent members.

"The election will also be fair for the MHC, and for example, if the president is from the MHF, then the deputy president will be from the MWHA," said Raja Nazrin. And the situation is the same for the other positions. For example, two vice presidents will be from the MHF, while two from the MWHA. And if the secretary is from the MWHA, then the assistant secretary will be from the MHF. "The representation will be on a 50-50 ratio, as we want both the men and women to be equally represented when making decisions," said Raja Nazrin.

Elections will be held every two years, and if there are any conflicts in either the MHF or the MWHA, the MHC's decision will reign supreme. "We have always had a good working relationship with the MHF, and this new umbrella body will make it even better," said MWHA president Raja Puan Sri Noora Ashikin Raja Abdullah.

a) Now the members of MHC are MHF & MWHA so how did states apply to be direct members of MHC?

b) When did the constitution of the MHC change to increase its membership to include other states?

c) are the 10 states holding dual membership in MHC & MHF???

d) By right the only people who can vote at the MHC-EOGM are reps from MHF & MWHA, the reps from the states are observers

e) States hockey association merges or un-merged needs to apply to be members of MHC you can de-facto transfer membership from one association to another. The constitution stats that clearly.

The OLYMPIC COUNCIL OF MALAYSIA - TWENTY FIFTH ANNUAL REPORT FOR PERIOD 1ST JUNE 2006 to 15TH MAY 2007
In compliance with the directive of the International Hockey Federation, the Malaysian Hockey Federation and the Malaysian Women’s Hockey Association was amalgamated to form the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC). As a result, the Malaysian Hockey Federation and the Malaysian Women’s Hockey Association ceased to be Ordinary Members of OCM, with the Malaysian Hockey Confederation taking their place. The Council approved the Malaysian Hockey Confederation as the sole governing body for Hockey in Malaysia on 14th October 2006.

So when I read the news article that only 10 states can be sent letters to something is VERY WRONG!!! States are not members of MHC, they are members of MHF & MHWA, they have no voting rights they are observers.

Only members of MHC can vote at the EOGM - now you have to define who are the members of MHC

The problem is the organization are not being transparent on who are the 10, how they got selected and most importantly will it be legal... We cant continue time and time again making blunders and then paying the consequences for it

The straw that broke the camel's back

The idiom the straw that broke the camel's back is from an Arabic proverb about how a camel wearing shoes is loaded beyond its capacity to move or stand.

This also gives rise to the phrase "the last/final straw", used when something is deemed to be the last in a line of unacceptable occurrences. Every notice how most of the times in a relationship it's something small(which leads to a big fight) that winds up ending it?

Most relationships have disagreements that the beauty of it but after a while the failure sets in when one too many compromises or one too many disagreements reaches a point when disgust sets in.

Relationships are not just confined to lovers, even in familiy or even friends there things happens, while the yarn and tale about trying to repair it and wise words "remember why we started this in the first place" all comes to mind, it does not hide the fact disgust sets in and leaves an ugly taste in your mouth

I had no problem digging in and battling through some very hard times, but something small made me say "enough is enough". The revelation hit, not over a major difference, but rather over something quite trivial.

The last straw is usually based on disgust its an emotion that will engulf your mind body and soul... its not a bad thing. It can come in handy to use it to get rid of poisonous people as well.

My Word is Stronger than Oak

Promise only what you can deliver. Then deliver more than you promise.
~ Anonymous.

This statement is from a movie starring Tom Cruise. It denotes that a promise from me is stronger than any contract you can ever sign. Basically its bout keeping you word, or your promise, in this day and age with the vast improvements in technology and communication and the advent of social networking tools people tend to neglect the promises they make or the word they give. It boils down to responsibility, ever more so in today's world you have to be responsible for you action, your deliverance and not take people for granted.

I do not make promises I dont keep, and do my best to deliver what I said I will, but I shake my head in amazement when some dont even care. Forget about life and death, even the simplest things like after confirming that you will attend the match and you dont show up and the cheek to come around later acting nonchalantly like nothing happened?

Or a fren who says I will meet you at 6pm but doesnt show up or forgot about it. In the end, what makes man a man are the choices he makes. Not his past, not his rapport, but by the things he stand for.

That counts in my book.. so stand up and deliver instead of pussy footing around

You must a dimwit to argue with an Umpire

There was an opinion written in The Star Today about Malaysian hockey must bite the bullet, overall he touched about the recently concluded Razak Cup and Hockey in Malaysia.

As I read thru it having been apart of Razak as a player and Umpire, I understood where he was coming from

There was a paragraph or two that got my attention.....The experienced teams like KL and Perak were a letdown when it came to sportsmanship and discipline. My daughter commented. “Why are the national players protesting relentlessly at the referee each time?”

Being a qualified referee and player I could sense the players were “playing” with the referees to gain advantage. This is an unacceptable culture. We need role models.

"people argue with the umpire when they don't agree with the decision the umpire has made in the game"

Does it actually happen? Based on my experience yeah is does, there is a whole of a difference between questioning a call and arguing a decision. I am not gonna single out National Players coz it is rampant throughout the system. Its ok for Players to argue.

So there hockey players who represent state and clubs can be categorized as intelligent/educated players... well not like we can call them stupid players right!! . Why do so many players argue so vociferously with refs after a decision has been made, most players must be truly a tubelight.... How often do you see a decision reversed as a result of protests? Umpires after all are only human, the only thing to be achieved is a wound up ump....

Now how many time have we hard this phrase and yet time and time again we see it happening, especially with the advent of players swearing at umpires and the Tv camera catches them

The problem they get away with it. Team Captains let it happen, Umpires turn the other cheek, Managers (dont get me started), Coaches add fuel to fire, Technical Officials who dont bother all this and more contribute.

Now I ask you this, when is the last time you saw an umpire being applauded at, thanked after the game for a good advantage, a correct decision... Gosh I dun recall ever... It must start, and must start with everyone!!!

Milestones & What's next

Mallory O'Brian: And we went to the moon. Do we really have to go to Mars?
Sam Seaborn: Yes.
Mallory O'Brian: Why?
Sam Seaborn: 'Cause it's next. 'Cause we came out of the cave, and we looked over the hill and we saw fire; and we crossed the ocean and we pioneered the west, and we took to the sky. The history of man is hung on a timeline of exploration and this is what's next.

I am a great fan of West Wing, its was a television series that inspired and continues to inspire people even after its 7 magnificent seasons and this is a quote from an episode in that movie..

Milestones

We all wanna leave our mark, do our bit, some talk more, some do more but nothing says it best that actually doing it. A fren of mine often used a phrase "Walk the Talk" and that became synonymous with what I had envisioned for em in May 2009 when I got elected to a position in a hockey body.

We needed to shock the system, revitalize the sport, raise the bar in performance make a change, put in place a plan and execute it.. soon the WE became I, it had to start with me, If I do not step up then I cannot expect others to do the same. So we became I!!!

In the part 27 months we have made changes, I used the word we here because of the support I got from outside the association I was elected to. Too many dead woods but my friend and fellow hockey lovers believed in what we wanted to do, withing the association in the main council there was only 5 of a possible 22 that actually bothered to life a finger to support, there rest were set in their own lazy ways or finding ways to sink out projects

To put it simple without my friends and supporters none of this would have mattered So when I stand here and say we have made milestones, I give all the credit to them.

This past 1 month has been THE TOUGHEST if not one of the toughest

We aaccomplish 3 major events
  1. PSC Tournament - Synergy
  2. 100PLUS-SHA Awareness Clinic (over 200 kids and major coverage in TV and print media)
  3. Synergy Indoor Hockey Tournament (full indoor spec)
Trying to manage this along side with work and friends and family certainly toll its on my mind and body especially with some friends and family. While some walked away and some choose to make a stand, I did not gave time to battle back but merely just accept them for the choices the made.

At times it meant going to the ground and carrying out the task my self or roping other friends to help me out or even phone calls round the clock, what ever it took to get the job done, we did it

The icing on the cake of this milestone was the 100plus kids program and the indoor tournament

WHATS NEXT

I dont know... looking for a challenge, to inspire or be inspired but at the same breath I hate having to same the same problems, I wonder if ther eis a light at the end of the tunnel when other look at what been done and take the I to become a 'WE'

Walk the talk

Ending of a chapter - suicide

“Suicide is man's way of telling God, "You can't fire me - I quit."” Bill Maher quotes

If you scroll thru the internet you many kinds of death and most of the in those posted in main stream papers or the WWW are tragic or unexpected ones. We generally read it in passing unless it is someone we know or met in our journey thru life. Sometimes it becomes a coffee table or happy hours point of discussion

In all honestly, I struggle to comprehend death especially its timing, why some are in my opinion before their time and some you wish it was sooner. I dont believe in shift the blame or death to a high being that's taking the easy way out,. In a society that demands for clear definition and questioning WHY? in every possible subject, we tend to take the easy way on this subject.

While trying to wrap my head around that, I am faced with another conundrum - suicide. If death if hard enough to accept the manner in which an individual decided to end his or her life and the dramatic impact it leaves on friend and family if beyond words. It is a whole different ball game, Maybe I over think about it but i cant help my self.

JESSE VENTURA, former wrestler and Governorship of Minnesota in his book "I Ain't Got Time to Bleed" said 'I'm not disparaging suicides when I call them weak, I'm pointing out that anybody who would consider doing a thing like that needs help. I don't think a normal, mentally healthy person commits suicide.'

Sitting down Tuesday returning my quiz night I was approached by a fren that informed me someone I know had committed suicide. Did not matter young or old? I was shocked to hear it. There was a range of emotion as the news sunk in ..Shock, a loss for words and in the mind were question Why?

It easy to type out we have problems we should over come, we never will know what was on that person's mind to drive them to suicide, walk a mile in their shoe!!

What adds to that conundrum is despite all the family and friends and lovers they had they could not speak it out or share it our or confesses or work the issues out and death was the only option. the sad part is we did nto see it coming , there lies our failure as a fren or a family or as a lover

A life is lost and thats sad.

I love what I do - another first project of its kind

I love my sports, I am passionate about what I believe I can do and get people alone to help me out... bout two years ago I got elected to a position, ironically as many can attest I never went there to get elected. Why? You could say I am am the kind of guy that swims against the tide so that make me a trouble maker....I know the rules and I know the opportunities, so when I got elected I got to work.

Short term goals long terms goals I was determined that n my 2 years of being elected, till the term expired I will give 101% and set standard that people can look up to and emulate. I guess I am lucky to have a Deputy President that shares the same passion and vision of what we must to do dig ourselves out of the hole we are in. It was never easy... while some toiled some just warmed the seats.

But we set standard and continued to improve ourselves and the people around us to raise the level of the game in this state. We did a lot of things First, heck we are proud of it, we wear our colors with pride, granted there are some lame asses who want to steal the credit, who want to bring us down... go ahead... you know why? we are here for 2 years to do a job. If you want us back you know where to tick!!

ANOTHER FIRST - I am working hard right now on another project where the goal is to get 150 kids below the ages of 10 & 12 from schools in the Selangor and have a clinic to improve their skills while having fun at the same time learn about the Razak Cup and its 48 year legacy. I want to give the kids the opportunity to look at the trophy, touch it , take pics with it. I want to get National players and former Razak Cup greats to come, lets the kids see them, take pics with them, listen to them talk about their experiences.

It has not been done before and I dun plan to make it a one off event!!! Throw away you game-boy, Facebook, PS2 for one morning of playing the game you love and have fun with and meet the STARS. Whats wrong in that? I want the kids to be in awe when they meet the National Players, or when they look at the Razak Cup Trophy, when the former greats of Razak show up..

I am working hard, working my ass off to make this happen, coz I know in my heart and mind if this works the chain reaction it gonna rock.... the I will be in my corner patting my own back as I watch the kids enjoy

Help me help you...

Father's Day

"My grandfather always said that living is like licking honey off a thorn." -- Louis Adamic

It never ceases to amaze me how the commercial aspect of Mother's day has caught on with Father's day.. Today Father’s Day is becoming an important day of celebration and gradually catching up with the more popular Mother’s Day worldwide. It seem to outshine Children's day hahaha

Where Mother’s Day is seen to be more sentimental, Father’s Day is seen more as a day of practical gift giving such as DIY tools etc. However the most popular Father’s Day present is apparently the gift of a tie.

The general advise is No matter what you call your father — dad, papa, pop and so on — Father's day is a chance for you to celebrate your father and recognize just what he is and what he has done for you.

When I grew up we shows our resepct and appreciate to our parents, granted not all the time, expecially when we were getting the shit out of us but we also knew it was their responsiblity to keep us in check.

After a decade of being a father I have come to realize some very poignant and important things about the role. At first it just seemed surreal, and at times it still does. there are many a times filled with frustration, stress and sacrifice involved in being a parent. But there also great time when you just flying with your Junior.

There are times when you have to put ur foot down and fight off family and relative but above all there are no right paths or right decisions, it always gonna be a learning curve. What I learn growing up I discard the bad and ugly and try to give and do my best, sometimes its never enough but hey tha life!!

At times my mom would chuckle or try to control her laughter when Junior Vadai and I go head to head or when Junior Vadai interacts with her or my sis or relatives.. She would say the things I used to do as a kid.. he is doing it now, mannerism, nottyness, etc etc

Go figure... The best part of hearing that was it made me smile lol

The Ghost from the past

Its unique and funny how you end up meeting people...I would say I am lucky to have made friends from real life, childhood even people i have met online. Many of my best friends are people who met thru the power of the internet ... some at time if they end up being friends or part ways... it even more unique when some you know and had a relationship with shows up with you new pal.... well such an incident took place last night when a pal sitting across the table showed up with a fren... initially I did not recognize ... when she approached with a hi and hello it was pleasantly surprising... after apologizing profusely for not recognizing her we did some catching up almost 12 years of catching up... a good memories

well that one person more to add in face book

Calling the cup an idiot

Stevie Wonder : You can't base your life on other people's expectations.

There is a grey line when it comes to expectations especially when it comes to friends and more so when it is family. Like a kid celebrating a birthday expecting a particular gift after dropping all the hints the anti climax is when that the family dont pick up and the kid goes into a sulky mood the punch line would certainly by "I gave you enough hints"

The classic example will always I left you enough signs. While its easy to brush aside the above kids predicament its a whole different ball game when it comes to adults.

While the preaching of family ties and bond and blood or even in friendship with words as trust, openness and buddy or bro etc etc, the viciousness in the silent expectation of the others conduct, deliverable and reliability is a cancerous to one's own. It will eat you within, tear you up but on the outside you portray all is well.

Why it happen coz using excuses like respect, honor, friendship, I did it for you so you must do it for me or the classic this is the minimum standards for friendship / relationships

My question is this who actually define these standards? Whatever happen to talking about it? does it make you smaller? Cheap? too shy?

I watched brother and sister not talk to each over over 15 years god only knows for wat reason and all it took was the brother going to the wrong address where the sister lives and a tearful reunion takes place and all is forgiven

Communication is the key, when family or friend refuse to communicate and take self professed stand and opinion who do you actually expect the other party to know. When family draw lines for the weirdest reasons its the other party that suffers? do they deserve it?

Me? simple if you wanna go and draw lines and behave in that manner..... I probably ask once or twice then carry on. Why? Life is hard enough as it is with work and challenges to life by the last thing I need is for someone having an issues with me and refuse to tell me the reason lol

Blaming others for the pain we feel each time someone fails to live up to our expectations is no different than burning our tongue on coffee that's too hot to swallow, and then calling our cup an idiot! - Guy Finley

Dey Chitragupta

Dey Chitragupta.. avan kanak-kai soll

Yama or Yemen is the lord of death in Hinduism, first recorded in the Vedas. In Vedic tradition Yama was considered to have been the first mortal who died and espied the way to the celestial abodes, thus in virtue of precedence he became the ruler of the departed. In some passages, however, he is already regarded as the god of death.

Yama is assisted by Chitragupta who is assigned with the task of keeping complete records of actions of human beings on the earth, and upon their death deciding to have them reincarnated as a superior or inferior organism, depending on their actions on the earth.

So my opening line loosely translates to Yeman asking his accountant the fate of the human being in question. Why death? A definative end, a termination a point you cant cross.. and it all related to living.

I have a close family relative that bed ridden and sick over many years she slips in between times and in moments of lucidness is able to recall who you are and more... we have resigned i to the fact its just a matter of time she will pass on...and yet everytime there is a a sign pointing in that direction we all gather around to visit her. With all due respect to her, someone that I love and care for a lot maybe Winston Churchill is right when he said “I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the ordeal of meeting me is another matter.”

And yet as she pull thru day after that it is the unexpected "terminations" crudely put... terminations of life, relationships and what not that catches off guard.

Sometimes these are the things I am not prepared for.. for sometimes I just go numb.. maybe it is easier that way

I am perplexed

I am perpelxed, at times confused and at others a little irritated by this thing we call comminucation between friends

Eg 1 when someone does not sms or call you in a while and you reach by phone or sms and say hmmm "Hey how you doing not heward from you in a while bla bla bla ..." and you get a reply.. "Well I wanted to see how long before you would get in touch with me" and I am like WTF???

Eg 2 a pal facing a prob so you ask if everything is ok and you get a repla yeah I am ok... aparently that is a lingo to say " no no no I am facing the mother of all problems and I am waiting for you to ask me properly, or ask me a few times before I can tell you about it" and I am like WTF???

Greatness, Pride, Ego all worthless

The Narrator talks about a traveller who sees a sunken statue The poem deals with human hubris, and how greatness will not endure. The narrator sees this ruined area with a statue of this mighty lord Ozymandius who is no more. All that is left at the end is lone and level sand. The great works of man though potent in their time will not last. It is this irony that the poem points to.

OZYMANDIAS

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

helping others

when did we say it time to stop helping others?

“In helping others, we shall help ourselves, for whatever good we give out completes the circle and comes back to us.” Flora Edwards quotes

This quotes comes in so many languages that my my elders use to tell me growing up... today my friends was doing some mini shifting and me and Junior went to help out, it was friends or neighbors do. We help out carrying things loading them up into the lorry and really enjoyed ourselves.

Thought the body was a little sore it was a pleasure more ways then one. For Junior it was nice to seem him put his back into it despite his young age.

You got to trust your self with children, there was an empty gas tank that he wanted to carry, I took a grip of the tank estimate its weight and told him to try, it was not an easy task but wanted to so I let him. I guess if there were others around they would have ended up saying "Oh No how can you carry that, oh its dangerous " etc etc

I learn since he was young not to put children on a leash, let him try, if he fails we are there to help. Do you remembers your first bike ride without support, you gonna stumble, you gonna trip, and you might hurt your self a little and you learn better.

Kids need to have fun doing what they are doing, you just need to learn to trust them a little.

There are cows everywhere

It is indeed ironic but it is true there are cows in sports organization and other blind cows following them blindly and the funny part is they get re-elected every term.

Where does the fault lie?

Its comical at time when officials elected to post have cobwebs around them and only awaken a couple of months before to take credit or to discredit others. At time at matters that have no bearing but like a good media blitz, such cows and fellow cows whip it into a frenzy...

Why comical? They throw words such at illegal, un-constitutional etc etc just to gain popularity when in fact they are the poison that kill the sport.

At times I admire people on the ground who are crying for activities and trying to revive the sport only to be held hostage by cows and fellow cows who hold a bunch of votes. Hence the word majority rules.

I am here to do a job, leave the politics at the door and come and work with me, I will work with anyone even my enemies but NEVER use it as a platform for self interest.

Do we need change? YES
Do we need to educate the affiliates? YES
Do we need fresh face ? YES

How when the majority is with the cows? Maybe just do what you do best, when your term is up walk with your head held high
